Found it here also, that is going to increase orders even more for the powerboost I believe. I guess the lower towing numbers for the powerboost is the hybrid weight. Still 12,700. I'm still surprised that with the extra power it would be the same towing weight.

I wounder how much heavier the powerboost is?

I was right on the hp and a little high on the torque.
  • Ford has announced the power, torque, payload, and towing specs for the 2021 F-150 pickup.
  • The new PowerBoost hybrid powertrain makes the most power at 430 horses and 570 lb-ft of torque, and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost can tow the most at 14,000 pounds.
  • The 2021 Ford F-150 will arrive in dealers this fall along with the new PowerBoost hybrid model.

Not impressed... These arent spectacular numbers. The plugin Aviator does much better at 497/630 and the outgoing HO 3.5 managed 450/510. Plus it's gotta weigh 500 pounds more with the additional equipment. Meh...

Plug-in Aviator has a drastically bigger battery pack than the Powerboost and is a $10k premium over the standard Aviator vs. just $3k +/- depending on trim for the F150. Not a valid comparison.

Additionally both the Aviator and the HO motor require premium fuel to deliver the quoted power/torque whereas the Powerboost deliver its numbers with regular fuel.

Peak numbers also kind of irrelevant - power is +30hp or 7.5%, torque is +70lbft or 14%, but weight of Powerboost is +500lbs or 10%, so it could seem kind of a wash in terms of power & torque to weight?

Much more relevant will be what the electric motor does to the torque curve i.e. if it can add 70lbft to the 2000-3000rpm range that will be *very* noticeable and make the engine much more responsive, more like that instant-torque diesel feel.

I'm keen to see what reviewers actually make of the new Powerboost when they get a chance to test in real-world. Until then its just numbers on paper!

Thant was what people who had driven one were saying, the launch of the vehicle from stand still was very impressive. That is where electric motors exceed at, the instant torque.
