Don’t know if it’s retail or stock.
Dang yours is close to mine

I would say yours is a stock order that he has order for you, that is how you got your VIN so soon. The last 5 are the sequence numbers. They are not built in that order but somewhat close to that order, if that makes since.

Did he give you an estimated build date? He can give you something like this in the photo.

Not going to lie... insanely jealous of those with VIN numbers already.

I found out today my dealer doesn’t have an allocation of the PowerBoost. My order is a retail order with priority of 10.

Does anyone know if my retail order will get selected once OKTB is achieved if don’t have an allocation? (First new truck purchase and trying to learn how this works.)

I guess I am asking... Does allocation pertain to stock orders, retail orders, or both?

I live in a small to medium MT market and are trying to figure out if my retail order has any hope of being selected by Ford.
Any help is greatly appreciated. My wife is sick of hearing about this truck. But this is a huge deal in my world.
Lol
I feel your pain and know what you mean.

Allocations are king, no allocation, then it won't matter if stock or retail.

Stock is just what the dealer orders to put on his lot to sell. Retail, also referred as pre-sold is a customer order. That is the only difference.

When OKTB is achieved, the retail orders will get priority when Ford schedules the builds but not until then. Ford will not even schedule retails orders prior to OKTB. Stock orders are the only ones built during the startup period.

He will not be able to order anything till he has allocations. I think powerboost have to have their own allocations for they are limited in production right now.

At least this is the way it was with my last 3 orders and seems to still remain the case now.

The only thing my dealer gave me for my order was a "2021 Dealer Order Receipt". It says, "DORA Processed: 10/08/20", "Priority 10".

Does anyone know when I should start asking my dealer if they have a VIN yet? Is there a way to track this order myself with the information I have?
From google priority 10 is the highest for a retail order. Your dealer did well for you. I’m at 19

I now have my VIN number also, but it is a stock order and I was told I probably could not track it like a retail order.

but I got more info anyhow

Thanks a ton for the information! Bad news is better than no news.

It may be blasphemy on this board but I may have to go another direction rather than sitting in limbo indefinitely.

You might want to wait till OKTB is achieved which is looking good for early to mid-Nov. Ford will start dishing out more allocations about every 2 weeks after that happens. Just saying...

So, does each plant arrive at OKTB on their own schedule or will both plants get that at the same time.
i am under the impression Dearborn has been building for a couple of weeks and KCM just started?

I saw in other posts on here that the diesel is slated to start production 11/30 and no delays mentioned about the interior work surface. Am I to understand that this updated info means that diesel is delayed into 2021 and work surface is delayed as well?

Also, any way to tell off the order sheet if the dealer picked 5.5 or 6.5 bed? I don't wanna annoy my dealer but I cant tell based on the print out I got. It just says Platinum 4x4 -145 and then 145 wheel base. I asked for the 5.5 bed.

The 145" wheel base SuperCrew is for a 5.5' bed.

I think the wheelbase of 145 indicates a 5.5 foot box. 157 wheelbase would indicate a 6.5 box, and a 164 wheelbase would indicate an 8 foot box.

Possible they could hit at almost the same time but that will be totally dependent on their QC and any issues they come across. Dearborn has had a much longer lead time but they had more re-organizing to do with the Powerboost being installed there and not Kansas. They have been working out details for some time now, no doubt it will help Kansas but I doubt it will be the same time. This is just my own opinion based on what I have heard and read.

Can anyone confirm if going to the website, signing up for "Get Updates" (mail and email) actually results in getting the $2500 cash back offer?
Today I went to Ford.com and got a popup to get $2500 off nlt 1/4/21. Entered my info and they gave me the code
