Got this from my dealer today about the powerboost orders. May be why my schedule date got pushed a month.

"the Hybrid engine is a controlled commodity meaning it is in short supply"

Did your dealer say someone at Ford told him that, or was it just his opinion as to why your build date slipped right a month?

He copied it and sent it to me in a file. It is a direct screen copy from Fords ordering bank/tracking system. Could not upload it here for it is not supported.

Hmmm. Controlled like has components from a controlled trade country like China? Or locally controlled? Either way that's a major bummer!

Bummer, but as always, thanks for sharing the information.

I tried doing a screen shot of it and see if it will load. Well look at that it worked...
Under scheduling notes you will see some other notes too, but top left you see the statement about the hybrid being regionally controlled.

Interesting currybob, the scheduling notes list "expected 11/30" for the Max Recline Seats. Since there is no way that my order will be built before 11/30, I might be safe to add those without delaying things worse than I already am... I'm going to have to think long and hard about adding them before it is too late.

Are the plant specific items also on hold? If so I'm in bigger trouble because Dearborn has the Powerboost and the 6" extended running boards listed. So I'll have two items on constraint?

Don't know that any of that is going to effect too much anyway for they seemed to have moved all retail builds till late Nov anyway, at least best I can tell. Just going to be a painful wait.

I had an early order in 2015 also, seems I'm a glutton for punishment! My 2018 order was smooth and quick at least.

I have bought many vehicles in July and August that were the upcoming model year. I guess this time the 2021s will almost be released in 2021.

I have done a few myself, I actually did one with the 2015 MY, man that one was painful. Was almost 5 months but with my trucks I'm very particular about my options and colors, so about the only way I do it.

My 2018 model went very smooth for it was pretty much just a typical MY for Ford, no big change overs and what not.

Do you think being a new truck and power train there will be many “bugs”?

Well the engine is well proven and the tranny is also.

The additional stuff could have a few but this vehicle is Fords most important vehicle to their bottom line. I know it has been real world tested and beat on far worse than 99.9% of the customers will.

It is still a complex, mass produced vehicle so there will be some to come out no doubt. The majority of owners I think will never have any real issues at all. There is always a 1% or so that get some quality/bad parts kinda thing.

I don't think it will be any worse than other years, hope not but I have not been disappointed so far. All, if any have been minor and were taken care of quickly for me over the decades, and I have owned a LOT of new vehicles in my life.

I like that software updates can now be done via internet and you don't have to bring your vehicle in for those minor software glitches.

I was waffling between a new F150 and a Yukon AT4 (kids, family, what's better for us, blah blah). Neither is in the market, yet (although Denali and SLT's are). The GM's are having major issues with the Tahoe/Yukon's. I have not intention of buying one in the first model year...or perhaps ever. In addition, what $75k gets you in an F-150 vs. a Yukon...can't even compare. Ford has really done something with the new F-150, IMO.

I have said this on the board previously, but I feel like Ford has likely beat the ever-loving hell out of these things already and will continue to until Job 1. @currybob is spot on about the drivetrain. Everything is essentially a carryover from 2020 with the addition of the hybrid drive. This will be Ford's 11th model year of producing a hybrid drive vehicle. The F-150 is a different beast, but have no reservations about buying one in the first year of production.

Just ordered my truck today. Just hoping to get it this year, and maybe even grab a December incentive. Had the hook up with the A-Plan. Not too badly equipped for under $60k. Middle of the road on most things and made for towing. This will replace my 2011 3.5 Ecoboost F150 XLT and my 2017 MKZ Reserve since it has most of the features, functions, and safety of the two combined, as well as some new tech!

Anyone know what the price level or priority codes represent exactly? Also, I added my build to the order "form", just in case it was missed.

Lower priority code is better, 10 is the best, 19 is "standard". No idea on the pricing level code

Just got home from placing my order. Platinum, super crew, 6-1/2’ bed, 701A, carbonized grey, black interior, interior work surface, FX4 package, locking fold flat rear storage.

would have done the spray in liner, but planning on running a “decked” bed system on this and figured it would cover it anyhow. Gave them my trade in today, hopefully I’ll get some order updates soon, hoping for late Nov but would love it sooner.

added to the tracker link also
