I have a 2021 since dec2020. I'm at 12k kms. I get the add oil light come on since my first oil change at 7k. My add oil cames on fourth time now (not everytime) but add oil on start ups only... On flat and or Hill park. Doesn't matter how long parked for very random. It's topped to the rim still since change. I'm getting it tested at dealer.

Hopefully, minor. Good luck. Please keep us posted.

No, not a troll thread. I’ve had to add a litre of oil every second gas fill. 2 litre in first 3000km. I’m not driving much because of Covid and plan to return to dealer around 6000km (service is recommended at 14,000). At this rate I will never need to change oil, the 8 litre capacity will be replaced between service intervals. Just need to change the filter.

I just did my first oil change at 3,050 miles and got 6.75~ out of the pan when I drained it. I refilled with 7.75 quarts Amsoil 5w30 signature series. I know before I drained the oil I was showing in the center of the hashed area on the dipstick. After refilling I'm now showing at the top of the dipstick markings.

Edit: When I checked the oil at the ~1000 mile mark my dipstick was showing the same level as when I drained it. So I'm thinking that maybe the truck had less than the full 7.75 quarts from the get go.

Let us know how she runs with the new amsoil, looking to go the same route!

Just checked mine yesterday at 1400 miles.
Still full, still clean!
Still happy, still no regrets.

I’ve checked mine like 6 times in the 4400 miles I have done (1 oil change) and haven’t noticed any loss in oil.

I will probably be towing later this summer so I will report back after that.

Ok, went to the dealer after second oil light warning at 4000km. They changed oil/filter and have requested I return so they can check levels every 320km until I burn another litre.. It’s an “oil consumption test”.
I live 154 km from dealer, so can only drive to dealer then home again for 320km interval, repeat 6 times to confirm 1 litre burn. Frustrating waste of time and money since they get FordPass notification of prior two oil light warnings.

Warning to new 5.0l buyers.

I traded my 2014 F150 with 5.0 litre engine (never EVER added oil in 6 years) for a 2021 F150 5.0 litre. At 1,300km the oil light came on for a 1 litre top up.
The truck puffs blue smoke on a cold start-up.

I don’t like where this is headed.

Why I got rid of my 19 5.0 and went with an ecoboost this time in my 2021. My 19 was using 3-3.5qts every 5k. Dealer did TSB then said its a normal characteristic of the 5.0. Between that and the excessively loud pinging I ditched it before major issues. Sounds like most people don't have oil consumption but some do. I miss the V8 sound with my magnaflow but I just couldn't take the oil consumption and plethora of other issues I had with that truck.

I wish you the best with your 5.0 bud.
