Right, because using the 15-20 height settings would get you about .5 inch more of lift than advertised therefore the 0 inch setting on the old models would actually give you .5 inches of lift so they just added one more setting .5 inches lower to give you a true 0 inches of lift making it have 6 settings now and the highest setting being 2.5 inches now vs 2 inches on the previous Gen models. That’s why I’m asking if they did indeed make any actual valving/dampening changes or just add an extra 6 setting and change all the height settings accordingly. Not sure if that makes sense or not but that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw these new 21+ kits roll out. Seem exactly like the old one with just the 6 lower setting added in case you want to run the stock height. I’m only asking because I’m rocking the previous Gen bilstein 5100 kit at the 2 inch setting and I got, you guessed it right, 2.5 inches of lift. I wanted to upgrade to the 21 specific 6112 kit when it came out but can’t find anywhere the changes in valving or dampening that bilstein did, so if all they did was reuse the previous Gen 6112 kit with new height settings I could have done that a long time ago with the 15-20 kit.
Imagine if this new 6112 kit actually gives +3" of lift now . Wouldnt that be something.

That would be awesome (although bad for the stock suspension angles) but I think you misunderstood what I meant, the new 21+ version of the 6112s are accurate on the lift settings. The .5 extra of lift is on the 15-20 version of the 6112s so what I meant is they wouldn’t have added an extra 2.5 inch setting but rather their old 2inch setting on the 15-20 set is actually the new 2.5 inch setting since it’s actually giving you .5 inches more of lift than advertised (on the 15-20 versions). Lots of people (myself included) are running the 15-20 set up at the 2 inch setting and getting 2.5 inches of lift out of them. The 2 inch setting on 15-20 model sets we’re giving people and extra .5 inches of lift then they could have easily just remarked their older version 6112s (with no tuning changes done) 2 inch setting as 2.5 inches and add an extra 6 setting on the bottom to add an actual 0 inch setting since the 15-20 model 0 inch setting would actually get you .5 inches of lift running it on the 21+ F150s. That’s why now it has 6 settings and their highest setting is now 2.5 inches. That’s why I was a bit skeptical if they made any internal changes. I hope that is making sense but I’ll probably just call and ask bilstein and report back. Not doubting bilstein at all, I actually love the ride quality on my 5100s but if they didn’t change the valving then it’s somewhat of a let down and I’m disappointed because I could have ran the 15-20 version of the 6112s months ago because like me, a lot of people weren’t waiting on fit (15-20 versions bolt up just fine with the exception of getting .5 inches more of lift) but rather waiting for tuning/valving changes to be done to account for the slight change in geometry.

Oh yeah, i got what you were saying, AND with that said, I do kinda hope that a NEW 2.5" setting will actually give me that 3" lift. As for the angles, i am definitely putting an UCA this time around. Curious to see for myself what all the fuss is about.

Came across some Camburg UCA photos and a truck which resembles my future project , about 95%. Mine is Silver vs theirs being white. Bilstein suspension + wheels/tires are close enough too.
I may go with SPC UCAs tho (undecided yet).

Also just wanted to post some beautiful truck photos :)

I just installed the 15-20 6112/5160 combo on my 22 Powerboost on the 1.5 inch setting and only got 1.25 inch of lift in the front. The PB is heavy and the factory springs (I believe) have a higher spring rate than the Bilsteins, but I’m guessing the 5.0 would get at least the rated lift.

The ride quality is night and day compared to the factory set up. Much more controlled, tighter feel, very little body roll, no porposing, no axel hop, extremely smooth, and yet still a very nice ride. I’m guessing my ride is softer than most who upgrade to this setup as I kept standard load tires (275/70r18). Couldn’t be happier and would absolutely recommend this setup. Would be curious to know what they changed for the 21+ models, besides the ride height settings.

Can you please post some pictures of your truck after level and tire upgrades?

Might be somewhat tough to see due to the weather today. Truck is also on a slight incline. My goal was to make it sit similar to a Tremor with less rake, and it came out about perfect. I gained about 1.25” in the front (on the 1.5” setting) and I swapped the factory rear block for an auto spring 2” which added .75” to the rear. Rake is about 2.5” (was 3” originally). Tires are the same as the Tremor (General grabber atx 275/70r18) which are just over 33” diameter, so the truck sits about 2” higher overall. I love how everything turned out. Ride is great and the tires are quiet with no vibration at any speed, and for the short time I’ve had the set up I’ve seen no loss in MPGs at all.

That looks good, thanks. My 6.5 ft bed powerboost is scheduled to be built in 2 weeks and I'm starting to look at leveling kits and tires. This may be the sweet spot between looks and mileage.

Your truck looks awesome!! I see your truck is the Lariat trim but does have the FX4 Package? I have a 22 powerboost with the FX4'package and I am wondering if this setup will be better in terms of ride quality and handling compared to the FX4 Package? Also if you don't posting the link to the kit you bought. Thanks
