2 black boxes on the roof

There are 2 boxes on the roof. What is it for?
I am planning to put a pop-up truck camper on my F150. It will hide the 2 boxes from the sky. Is there any impact?

XM radio & other is the modem. The former would definitely impact your sat radio reception with a camper.

I can attest that at least one is for the satellite radio. On the generation thirteen F-150 it was the "shark fin" antenna on the roof towards the front. Good to know the other is for the internet connectivity. I like that they are both uniform instead of two separate pieces tacked onto the roof of the truck.

Found the part on ford's website and it is indeed attached using a bolt from underneath. Once my siriusxm trial expires I might use that space for something else

When I was using truck campers (not ford) I would read wire digram and find where there is a connector in the Sat radio antenna. (under dash or maybe in b piller). Find what adapters you need and put magnetic antenna on hood. Or just stream music to radio from phone.
