I'm finding it hard to locate these packages on 2021 XLT's, does anyone know why this is such an unpopular package?

Requires:
• 2.7L V6 EcoBoost® Engine
• Trailer Tow Package
Includes:
• 3.73 Electronic-Locking Rear-Axle
• 9.75" Gearset

#6900, tow capacity around 10,000.

I've been heavily considering it over the more common 3.55/8.8, but I can't find one w/ the payload package to test drive. can anyone speak to how they may drive different or will I not notice much of a difference. (in which case I'd take the extra capacity of the Payload Package).

Thanks

I have this package. I thought it came standard with the FX4 packages. I only have 40 miles on it so far so it’s hard to give you an opinion on the ride compared to others. It was hard to acquire though. There were only two in Michigan in space white at the time and the dealership I got it from had to do a dealer swap to get it. Following!

I've been wondering the same thing and was just about to post this thread myself. I am considering ordering this package on a XLT 302A. The 2.7 payload package seems to only consist of 3.73 gears and the 9.75" rear diff, up from 8.8" There are no changes to the suspension or frame at all, so the driving experience should be identical to any regular F150.

It's only a $750 option so I would expect it to be extremely popular on 2.7 XLs and XLTs, but I've literally never seen one pop up in my inventory searches. I've decided I'm definitely getting it, since I plan to order my truck anyway. I just can't believe it's not more common.

I didn’t opt for the HDPP with my 2.7, but I was able to get the 9.75” with the 3.73.

How did you get it then? It appears that the 9.75" diff is only available on the 2.7 via that 2.7 ecoboost payload package, unless I'm missing something. That said, I'm only researching the extended cab, so maybe there is a difference between extended cab the crew cab configurations. Just to verify, does your diff cover have 10 bolts (8.8) or 12 bolts (9.75)?

Because I have the 2.7 and FX4 I was able to get the 3.73. I fully expected to get the 8.8” rear end but was surprised when I saw I had the 9.75”. Maybe it was just an assembly thing where they had a 3.73/9.75 available and they installed it on my truck? I’ve heard of things happening like that before.

I ordered exactly this combo... XLT Supercab 4x4 with 2.7 EcoBoost. I figured it would be a good upgrade for the occasional trailer towing and trips to the lumberyard. Not a contractor but I want to use my truck AS a truck from time to time. Like others have said, I couldn’t find my chosen combination of options anywhere in Canada. I ordered 03/28.

I don't see the 2.7 payload package listed on your window sticker. Please post pictures of your door jam stickers so we can see the payload and GVWR numbers, as they will tell the story.

The entire reason I ruled out getting a Lariat was because you can't get it with the 2.7 V6 payload package, at least not according to Ford's online configurator. Did you special order your truck or buy off the lot? Also, are you in the US or Canada?

Anyone who has the 2.7 V6 payload package, regardless of the trim level, please post pictures of your door jam stickers so we can see the payload and GVWR numbers. Thanks!

I was at first thinking I preferred the2.7 but needed the payload for a small 5th wheel. None available.
Once I added the bigger gas tank etc on my build the ED3.5 and the hybrid did not cost much more so..... waiting on a 4x2 hybrid xlt.
