If the last OTA you got before the 3.5.x OTA's came in, then your truck got skipped over several updates. You missed out on rear camera(s) in motion and pro trailer back up assist with the checkered sticker instead of just the sensors.
So, plugged in my 7 to 4 pin adapter and took my truck for a drive. It turns out, I do have rear camera view while driving - it's the one embedded in the third break light on the roof. l'm not sure if that's what you were referring to.

After reading up quite a bit on this forum, Ive decided I'm going to give it a shot at updating my truck and changing a few things like adding temps to guages and getting rid of the various chimes. Not sure what I need to do exactly, but I'll read more about it on this site and take copious notes.

im my last OTA update, they took AWAY that view ... i'm NOT happy about that.
They also screwed up my phone sync to the truck.
these OTA updates are getting ridiculous ! they moved the clock from top center of the scrteen to upper left, now it's block by phone mount.
FORD MOTOR COMPANY... fix this please!
then i'm turning OTA updates OFF!!!

It’s amateur hour for sure, the one thing I learned from the forums is the only way to do this correctly is to get the required equipment and learn how to do it yourself.

Just received 4.2.2 on 6/5/23. Once I receive 4.3.3, I'm going to update my truck myself and turn off automatic updates.

Turning off auto will not prevent OTA's from downloading and installing. Auto updates pertain only to OTA's that require the truck to be inhibited while they install. Most OTA's do not have this requirement, so those updates will go through either way.

I just received this message from Ford:
......and then when you get there for your appointment, they tell you your truck is up to date.

One can only hope! I talked with the service manager and he said that it was a go and that Ford will reimburse them for 12 hours labor. I have an appointment tomorrow. We shall see!

Interesting. This means you got skipped over a few updates. I have been curious to see if the dealers and the "improved" 21G01 process for bluecruise programming works for a truck in this situation. Please keep us posted on what they are able to do. Once you drop off your truck to them, with your VIN, I can see the progress they are making.

Or fail-by-fail updates.
I’m sure this is how it will work, but I was trying to be optimistic. Lol. At least you can watch in near real time.

Darn it Ford has thought of everything , but how to update our trucks without all the hassle.

This all reminds me of when Bill Ford and Bill Gates got into a tiff with one another about the reliabilty of their products. I believe Bill Gates mentioned the old found on road dead, and Bill Ford replied that if Microsoft built cars, we'd all have to pull over every so often to stop and do a reboot. Bill Ford wasn't too far off. Here we are, Sync is a Microsoft based platform and our trucks are being "inhibited" while doing updates.🤦‍♂️

BTW, I received 4.2.4 yesterday., but skipped (?) 4.2.3. I wonder what happened to 4.2.3? Did someone lose count? These updates and the issues we're all having could be one or several long skits for SNL.
