Hi everyone, I'm coming out of a 2019 and waiting on my 2022 to arrive. On my previous truck, I'd installed a set of Fox 2.0 shocks in the rear to help with the bounciness of the rear end when unloaded. I've since removed them from the truck, but I'm trying to determine if they can be used on the newer trucks.

After looking at part numbers on several websites, there is a difference, despite them looking identical. My suspicion is damping rates or something internal to the shock.

Has anyone installed the shocks from the '15-20 trucks onto a 21+, and if so, are there any concerns? Would you do it again? Thanks in advance!

I have installed the ‘15-’20 rear shocks on my ‘21 and my ‘22 King Ranch FX4. No issues, fit perfectly., got rid of a lot of the wallowing and firmed up the ride nicely.. I’m still using the stock fronts. I always swap out the rear shocks on my F150s, because it’s easy and I feel it makes it a better riding truck. I prefer Fox over Bilstein or Rancho.

Overboost,
I installed Fox 2.0 BDS rears part #98224828 on my 21’ Tremor & couldn’t be happier. The only issue for my situation was extending my bump stops by 3/4” to prevent any bottoming out issues.

Want to fix the rear end bounce when the bed is empty what you need to do is install a rear sway bar like the ones from Hellwig. It will make a dramatic improvement in the ride and handling.

Upgrading the shocks will accomplish very little and is a waste of money.

Upgrading the rears to Fox 2.0's made a drastic change in mine.
I've had Hellwigs before for other vehicles, helps handling for sure. But I've always added 2.0's and saw improvement.

The Fox 2.0s on my 2019 made a very noticeable improvement of the rear end over the stock FX4 shocks. I can't speak to the sway bar, but I'll keep it in mind.

Thanks everyone for confirming the fitment. Seeing that there is a new part available for the 21+ trucks, I wanted to make sure the older shocks didn't hurt ride and handling significantly.
