I've seen where a couple of our Iowa deliveries may be waiting to hear back from the dealer on confirmation. Any other updates for our build week? This was out last tracker:

I'm waiting to hear confirmation from our shipper on travel arrangements. Anyone know if I can work with the sales rep and get the Ford Pass app to sync with my truck (now that I've bought it)? I'd like to track it as it travels.

As an alternative if you can’t use FP you may be able to use an inexpensive geo tag solution that could be paired to your truck. Like Apple AirTag or lots of android tags at Best Buy that maybe Dexter could help you acquire. Maybe your carrier has something like that. You would think they would have clients that would want that level of tracking expensive stuff.

My truck arrived at the dealer over a week ago but I'm still waiting to hear from their finance people. I'm hoping to pick it up on Friday, if not I may have to get it delivered because I won't be able to get out to Iowa until around President's weekend.

I'm sure you could if they're willing to help. Ask them to go to the truck while on the phone with you.

Put him on speaker, ask him to start the truck, meanwhile you hit activate in the app. All it requires is confirming/approving on the screen. Pretty easy.

Thanks - Dexter texted back and said he would do that when he had a moment today. I should be able to see it's location as it travels, I assume?

You should be able to. Pull down on the vehicle tab in the app to refresh. Sometimes I close the app and reopen for it to update fully on that page + the map.

I've been watching my truck as it's been in for service. I can see when it goes a couple days without running, looks like they just brought it back into the service Bay ?

So you can get it to update even when the truck isn't running. I'm pretty sure it goes into sleep mode after a week or two of not running though.

That did it. I first had to have Dexter go back to the truck again and enable all the location tracking in the truck under settings. With that I can see where they parked it across from the dealership.

I tried to set an alert when the truck is opened, but that part of the app won't save when I choose all day for the required schedule or all days or 12 AM to 11:55 PM.

Does yours alert you to when it's moved and such?

Will update on the Shipping - hit a snag and had running around to do quickly on our end and Dexter's (driver left as he couldn't get the keys). It's sorted and the driver came back to get the truck. Should be delivered tomorrow. More info later.

Dexter has been great through this, BTW.

I haven't actually had the alert on.... I just set it up as below. I'll let you know how it works.

i have had the alert on, but if they have the keys, it prob wont alert, my experience anyway

Got a wrecked car on the front. I hope he's got that strapped down tight. I also hope the pieces of that car stay where they are while on the interstate.

Driver was parked awhile at McDonalds, then left Woodbridge.
He avoided I95 South entirely (congestion on parts of it) and got on I64 West somewhat close to Charlottesville.

Here's some screen grabs after Charlottesville:

He took a break at the Pilot Travel center in Raphine VA

He's now on I81 near Natural Bridge VA. So about 7 hours out!

Seriously though - this is pretty cool. Thanks to everyone's help on here with it.

To get a new location, you go to the Vehicle tab on Ford Pass and swipe down. It's takes maybe 20 seconds or so to get an update, but there is a lag after that of maybe 30 seconds to translate that update to an address and XY on the map. You can then click on that address and see the map.

If you go to the map itself it shows you where you are (where your phone is), but after a lag, it zooms out of that close up and almost shows you both your location and the truck. (GIS/Map programmer space on the map extents for this Zoom - needed some testing/input from the transport end.)

If you manually zoom out further, you can then see the truck's location.

Ford really needs a third button at the bottom of the map. The top button is a standard symbol to show you your phone's location. The next button is a "drop a Pin on the map" button and it defaults to your phone location, sometimes moving the map when you do so.

To me, that 2nd button should be the truck/vehicle location button ("show me where the truck is"), and a 3rd button could be there (showing a Pin icon) for you to place a Pin (and don't move the map back to my phone location when I am zoomed in somewhere trying to add a Pin).

More than you wanted to know, but my OCD is in overdrive.
