Out of curiousity, how many of you custom ordered your truck, and have a Retail Order Type?

I am waiting on a Stock Order Type, as the dealer ordered this and I’ve agreed to buy.

been patiently waiting for a few months now, and the truck now has a 10/31 eta on a 4/24 build date.

I would say virtually everyone here that’s ordered a truck is a retail order. You’re actually the first I’ve heard of tracking a dealer stock order.

Yep, I thought I was a bit unique. Thanks for the confirmation. Was going to order a truck but found out the dealer had one on order already that was pretty close to how I would have ordered.
Looks like stock orders are taking a back seat to Retail orders for priority.

Well my 4/26 build week changed status over the weekend to 8/14 delivery date I hope it actually happens and we all see these updates!!!

My ESTIMATED TIME OF ARRIVAL end date was changed from 10/31 to 8/15 Saturday and 8/10 today!!! I read an article over the weekend about Ford shipping the F150's without chips to some dealers who have agreed to instal chips once received. I thought great, that just means mine is going to be shipped to a dealer and sit on their lot. However I see the build date indicates 7/18 (yesterday). Im hopefully that means the chips were installed yesterday and it will truly be here, completed 8/10.

they haven't started doing this yet, All trucks that are shipping are complete, They are talking about any trucks that come off the assembly lines going forward will ship to dealers for chip installs later.

Mine updated to shipped on 7/2. Shows 20 days for shipping but also says could take 12-28 days to ship. But gives an ETA of 8/2-8/8. I’m at 20 days today so I’m guessing it will be more in line with the 28 days. I think numbers are not Ford’s strongest asset. Lol

Ford has no control once it ships. Its all third party so they wouldn't have insight into exact numbers, even in years when there hasn't been this chip problem and driver shortage it has always been an estimate. Check with your dealer and see how it shipped. If shipped by truck you may be able to get update thru PAlsapp, if it went by train depending on where you live and which plant it was made in you can track thru CSX or union pacific. The dealer should be able to give you a rail car number if it went by train.

Ford is thinking about doing that with any future chip shortages so that they do not have to shut palnts down and they do not have a backlog of trucks to ship once the chips come in. They have not started doing it yet.
