That is what Ford advises. They cover your engine for 60,000 miles. I wouldn't ever do that on my own vehicle. 3-5,000 for me. OIl changes are cheap insurance in my opinion.

10k does seem high, but I typically do whatever the vehicle says oil lifetime wise. Usually when it gets to about 10% remaining I change oil and filter. And do tire rotation.

I did my initial at 2000 miles. Since then I've followed the oil life monitor. Given the fact that its a hybrid, you don't know exactly how many miles the engine has been operating for. Prior to this, I always changed my oil every 5000 miles. This time I'm putting my faith into the Ford engineers. We will see how it goes.

On my 2018 V-8 I followed the recommend oil change and used the oil life meter Experienced no problems. Plan to do the same with this 2021 powerboost.

About 20% of my miles are electric as I have a Powerboost. But the engine stops and starts much more. I changed the oil at 700mi and plan to do it again after an additional 7500, which is about 6000 gas miles.

Mine’s a lease. I simply follow what the OLM tells me. Right now I’m at about 7800 miles on my factory oil. It’s projected that my next oil change is due in November with about 2K more miles to go.

Does anyone know what oil (brand / type) Ford uses if you purchase the maintenance plan from them? I'm guessing regular oil-type-oil rather than synthetic, but candidly I don't know . . . .
