Ford F-150 03/21/22 Build Week Group A5220915-3057-4BD1-999A-5CA82A3EE921
Finally. Went offsite last Monday, built and shipped this week. Verified VVR shows it’s actually on a truck to KC. Hopefully no issues. From a late November deposit to hopefully in my hands early Sept… 10 months.

Finally got mine on the 3rd. I did end up getting x plan pricing with the time of order price protection after going back and forth several times. Unfortunately, there were two dents in the driver side back door from delivery that they did not catch during inspection.. I don’t have pics on me. They promised they would have it looking good as new. When I went to pick it up from getting the bodywork done, it looked like crap. Aluminum door looked rippled and touch up paint where they cracked the paint trying to fix it.. They ended up taking the door off, fixing and repainting the whole door. The second time it looked much better but was very nervous about having them paint. They also used some touch up paint on one of my door handles that looks kinda like crap, but I figured I’d worry about the big issue first. Overall very happy with the truck overall though. Drives great, fast as hell, and spacious. More features than I’ve ever had on a truck.

I stopped by the dealer today to ask if they had anything different than what the order tracker shows and I'm glad I did. The truck was unloaded at the Atlanta rail yard Friday and should be at the dealer this week. So the Ford vehicle tracking has shown the entire time that it was being shipped via convoy which was wrong, and it still shows that it has had no movement. If Amazon can tell you where your $5 item is and how many stops away it is on the day of delivery, you'd think that Ford would have better tracking info on a $70k + vehicle. At least it's not too far away now. Hopefully it doesn't sit on the CSX or NS ramp for weeks like some others have had happen.

My truck arrived at the dealer on Tuesday night and they did the tailgate recall work Wednesday morning. Going to pick it up later today. Not too much rust underneath and everything looks good. Ordered the wheel well covers on Amazon and will be getting the windows tinted right away. I activated the FordPass app while I was in the truck and it's pretty cool. I definitely plan to try and figure out how to get the Ford Pass Widget from scriptable setup as there are lot more details on that. Overall it was worth the wait, but the process is definitely flawed.

That sucks. I always opt for paint less dent repair and then take it to a proper paint shop when I’m going out of pocket. I don’t like bondo/filler fixes and I don’t like them removing panels that ultimately become loose when the plastic trim clips get stressed. A proper paint shop knows how to touch up and repolish to blend. Glad they ended up doing a full replacement.

This is one of my fears around paint quality in general for a truck that’s been sitting outdoors for 6 months.
