I spent some quality time with ford marketing earlier and he says mine is built. No explanation why it hasn't shipped. He looked at my build and said there was no notation of a chip hold on mine. But he also couldn't give me a reason as to why it hasn't shipped.
I told him my theory of not enough trucks being built in kansas city headed north and he laughed but didn't deny it!
We are a small sample here but look at all the dearborn vs kc on the spreadsheet.

Then I started asking questions about the discrepancies in the build and price and what it says it has vs what it actually had.

He claimed to be looking at the things I was asking about and pointing out the glitches Like the raptor 37 graphics and the tailgate applique delete. Said he was making notes on these things to pass along. He might have been, seemed sincere. We shall see.

Or maybe he gets bonus points for being on the phone with a customer longer.....Who knows?
Usually they get bonus points for being on the phone with a customer shorter.

Checked my window sticker - it was updated today (01/26/2022) as well. Previously it was updated 01/13/2022 (blend date) and 01/18/2022. Not sure if it actually means anything, but it's similar to what others are seeing.

aaa so I'm wordy..
If it makes you feel better, you probably cost them more money. At least that's the way I'm familiar with corporate call centres. There's a cost rate per minute.

Apparently part of the shipping holdup js personnel issues, dealer told me this :

People to load – you won’t read that in the paper, but that is the issue now.

Ford doesn’t have a code for delay in shipping because of lack of personnel, so they are hanging all on Chip

In some ways that would make me feel better. At least my truck isn't sitting half finished.

I still am not sure I believe it, why wouldn't in that case they mark them as built and just not shipped? Seems the excuse of why the trucks are not moving changes depends on who you talk to, but then again not sure it matters at the end of the day the truck is sitting in Michigan and not at my garage regardless of the reasons.

I wish it was optional...
I’m just giggling at all the consternation about unshipped trucks…

mine supposedly shipped last week and as others have commented, the published ETA states it’s gonna take longer to get to me that if I walked to Kansas City from Rochester NY and then pushed it home…

from Jan 20 to March 5th…

the tracker is junk - don’t worry about the dates!

and a nice as the people who answer the phones at Ford are…. Here’s a story…

last year my GT500 was marked built… but not produced… and that’s when Flatrock shut down. I called Ford Performance as they are supposed to be more plugged into the Shelby than the average Ford being built…. The very nice guy on the phone had not been told Flatrock was shut down for weeks… even tho it was national news. Ford never told them.

my car then showed up at my dealership 9 days later… still not produced or shipped…

moral here TL;DR; the tracking info is garbage and the state of your truck is not accurately reflected in most any system… even the dealers!

Thats a good question. I feel like they'd have to go back on the line in order to conclude the build with all required tests but what do I know...lol
It was called team repair at mitsubishi. Made for great double time on a sunday. The cars with missing or defective parts would be stockpiled everywhere around the plant then when the parts would get in, the group that usually would install said part would go out on the weekends and put the part on the cars.

One problem. The cars were assembled as much as they could be. If the missing or defective part was inside someplace inaccessible the group that originally put it on had no idea how to get to where it needed to go. Lots of damage taking stuff apart. I worked qc and it was great for us because the teams had no idea what they were doing so we would get a convertible and go sun tan if it was warm and listen to the stereo until they would have a few done then we got the job of figuring out what got broken or if it was done right.

What was the Mitsubishi plant is now the Rivian plant.

Thanks a pretty neat story. Thanks for sharing! Let’s hope ford has a better plan lol
