She’s home! Dark now, I can provide more pictures later :)

Some first impressions on the 30 min drive home:
  • Remarkably quiet cabin
  • Wireless CarPlay is lightning quick compared to my last vehicle
  • Stock stereo is just fine. On par if not better than my last vehicle
  • Cruising L/100 fuel economy with the 2.7 was great. Acceleration was not. Found I had to press fairly hard to get it going at the pace I’m used to in my last car
  • Impressed with the wide angle and clarity of the rear view camera. Was able to back it into a tight space without issue and with full confidence.

He shoots....he scores! Congrats!
Looks nice. Mine should be in soon. At the midway point now and dealer put a priority on it. Already lining up the addons...BakFlip Fibermax, Bed mat, window tinting and still contemplating the front paint protection for 2g. So expensive, but might be worth it. Covercraft is still working on the precision fit seat covers for the 2022 F150. Will have to wait on that add-on. I'll post my pic when I see it.

That’s the last thing I have to do. Gotta do it when it’s clean, and as you can see from my earlier pictures, we’re in the dead of winter here and clean isn’t an option lol

Can you please help me understand the advantages and disadvantages of wheel liners with stock wheels / tires?

Cosmetic: cleans up the look behind the rear wheels for an all dark look.
Functional: protects exposed under body panels from gravel, salt, etc.

I’m in a pretty heavily salted area in the winter so thought the added protection would be a good idea. I occasionally do a bit of gravel road driving as well.

That makes a lot of sense, thank you.

I'm glad I went with them. Do you happen to know how easy it is to add the $100 engine block heater that I passed on? Even though I live near Boise, Idaho, a move further north could happen. I've read you don't really need one unless 1)temps are near or below zero consistently in winter 2) the truck is parked outside 3) you have a diesel instead of gas. Thoughts?

From the manual:
  • The engine block heater is most effective when outdoor temperatures are below 0°F (-18°C).
  • The engine block heater warms the engine coolant. This allows the climate control system to quickly respond.
  • The system does not have a thermostat. It achieves maximum temperature after approximately three hours of operation. Using the engine block heater longer than three hours does not improve system performance and unnecessarily uses electricity.
Not gonna lie, thought mine came with the heater but I'm not seeing it on my window sticker and am now second guessing if I have it or not. I don't think I would have used it anyway, I've never had issues leaving cars outside in the middle of winter. Even my diesel BMW always got running fine.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. Plus, who wants to get up two hours early and drag a long extension cord outside? I think I read a couple years ago Ford had a recall on them because they were prone to starting fires. Wouldn't THAT be a drag. ?

You could always do a wifi plug to schedule power on/off, but yeah I wouldn’t bother.

While I don't live there, I have it on good authority that people in Cody WY use engine block heaters on their gas engines and recommend them. You can add them to an old truck (03 Silverado). I would assume you can add them to a new F150 (may be a bad assumption).

I ordered the engine heater for mine. If I can follow the cord, I'll try to see where it leads (internal/external).

Very jealous. My XLT was originally scheduled for 1/3 week, got bumped to 1/10 and now waiting in chip hold

Just received my first delivery bump. Ford now says 01/31/22. The dealer is getting sick of me too. Just emailed me back that it, "we have to get enough truck drivers to be able to bring all these vehicles up." And "but your truck will get here when it gets here." Nice.
