Don’t apologize! That’s a perfect call on the coffee. ?

Lariat Lounge is where it’s at, for sure. Just one request:

I need you guys to tell me it’s not worth upgrading my order to the 502a from 501 just for a heated steering wheel. That’s really all I’d care about in that package (I think). But it was cold this morning, and I thought of how nice it would be to have. Am I crazy? ?

I want a heated steering wheel too.. so dumb why that can't be added to the 501 with bench seats.

The 502a is quite a bit more than the heated steering wheel and heated rear seats. Its the bending projector headlights, power adjust steering column, rain sensing wipers, etc. But its $5K for all of that stuff so why not get the Platinum?

For me, the 501a was just enough so I can keep the extra cash for upgrades that I care about down the road.

This truck is very luxurious inside, rides extremely well and is so quiet!! Bravo Ford.

I looked at ALL of my options. 502A was the entry point with the copilot stuff including 360 prep. I am consolidating a loaded Lincoln MKZ and an 2011 XLT super crew. I have used most of this stuff and it is really nice. I won’t have massaging seats but I never used them. Novel but not “effective”.

Reason I didn’t go to platinum was that I love the lariat chrome grill and wheels, while hating the big platinum tailgate badge and the wheels are definitely not my thing. I also wanted a straight black leather interior... really Ford, one trim level? I am literally weighing payload and towing capacity, so I didn’t want the power tailgate and step, or the 18-speaker B&O was good enough for me. I didn’t like the headrest speaker idea and I confirmed it is weird to me in person. I don’t need the bling, the lariat has everything I would wan’t even though better equipped than many KR or Platinums.
The only options you can’t get are active motion lay flat seats, wireless charging (maybe one more but I can’t recall)

The price when equipped how I liked was a lot higher. Really just another piece to the “package game” you have to play with Ford to get what you want.

I’ve sat in them both, no noticeable difference in leather quality btw.

I did it because my hands are really cold in the winter. My 2014 GMC had it and it was wonderful. It is interesting how a couple of utility features like "HEATED STEERING WHEEL" and "WIRELESS CHARGING" are predicated on certain package levels. I could get started on a rant about parking sensors, but that is in another thread.

Since some others have started threads for their respective trims, I figured I'd get one going for us Lariat lovers. After all, we do make up 37% of the builds and orders currently and are the most popular trim line thus far!

Aptly named the Lariat Lounge, feel free to kick back, take a load off, and relax in your sumptuous ventilated seats, or unwind by listening to your favorite soundtrack via the soothing sounds of your Bang & Olufsen stereo (Unleashed optional), or light up the night with a full suite of LED lamps and blubs that clearly make the statement "you've arrived"!

We can start by sharing our builds and photos from those who are fortunate enough to have their lovely Lariat already. Revel in it dear friends! For we all shall have our Lariats one day!

Whatever you decide to do, fellow Lariat liaison, be sure to enjoy it! This is your all's thread!

I'll get this Lariat Lounge party started! Here is my build:

2021 Ford F-150 Lariat

  • Exterior:
    • SuperCrew with the 5' 1/2 foot bed
    • 145" Wheelbase
    • Velocity Blue Metallic
    • 18" 6-Spoke Machined-Aluminum Wheels with Gloss Black Pockets
    • Power tailgate with tailgate step and work surface
    • Wheel Well Liners
  • Powertrain:
    • 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 engine
    • 4x4 with ten speed transmission with selectable drive modes
    • 3.55 Electronic Locking rear axle ratio
  • Interior:
    • Twin Panel Moonroof
    • Interior Work Surface
    • Partitioned Lockable Fold-Flat Storage
    • Bang & Olufsen Unleashed with HD Radio
  • Packages:
    • 502A High

    • FX4 Off-Road
