Retail orders are price protected. The dealer invoice and window sticker will show current prices, but the adjustment is an accounting item between the dealer and Ford.

Read the announcement, orders are protected. nothing to do with window sticker.

I agree mostly but almost $2400 more in 6 weeks seems like a cash grab.

Try reading the text of the Ford notice before posting incorrect information, PRICE PROTECTION is explicitly addressed on the first page (exact text clipped and quoted verbatim):

"PRICE PROTECTION
2022 model units invoiced prior to February 15, 2022 will not be re-invoiced.

Automatic price protection will be provided on:
• Firm 2022-model fleet, retail, and demonstrator orders signed and dated on or before February
14, 2022, and received by Ford Motor Company on or before February 18, 2022.
• Fleet CPA or GPC orders will continue to be price protected to the individual customer’s
contract agreement or bid date."

IOW, if you have a retail order Confirmed by Ford prior to February 15, 2022, that order is PRICE PROTECTED to the person named on that order. That's simply a Confirmed order, it does not have to be scheduled for production or have a VIN assigned.

Look at the rates of inflation for the past 3 or 4 quarters. I'm surprised the price hasn't gone up more.

The New Vehicle Purchase Program customer is entitled to the price in effect at the time the vehicle was invoiced. Any money refunded to the dealer by Ford Motor Company or Lincoln Motor Company for price increases occurring after the order is submitted, but before shipment to the dealer, must be refunded to the customer
