I have a pair of spare 20inch rims that I'm going to have Costco mount Blizzak's on. But my rims don't have TPMS's on them. Doing some research, I think I need 315MHz TPMS-68, but I can't seem to find ones on Amazon that say they'll work. Costco is offering to sell my 4 for $200, which...
Same thing for mine. Just started 2 weeks ago, now it does it every trip. Randomly goes black. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn’t. Restarting the vehicle always gets it running again.
Hmm, that would be interesting. There are already sensors in the back of the truck to ensure the headlights are level regardless of load, so you’d think that’s all you need. Smart shocks just seems unnecessarly complex.
I was excited to sign up for Bluecruise, also having a Tesla with FSD; but seeing that map is concerning. As a resident of WA state, it basically looks like I’d be paying 200/year to get Bluecruise on I5 and a bit of a road out to the penisula. I was hoping a lot more of the local highways...
I sorta wondered about this myself. I suspect Ford isn’t going to give this away, but maybe Forscan can enable it. My early 2021 also seems to have all the sensors (I think for self leveling headlights) so I bet it’s just a software add on.
Frankly, it’s not a feature I’m dying for. The...
Posting another update. I emailed Gator to get a replacement bracket for the one that was broken and learned something… hilarious.
After 2 days, Gator emails me back. ‘Contact Retrax.com for replacement parts’. I had a feeling these were just re-branded Retrax covers, but this confirms it...
I guess I should post an update. I ended up finding a Gator Recoil on Amazon warehouse that fit my truck for a bit under $600. It seemed to check all the boxes (not a heavy brick, doesn’t block the back window, doesn’t make me carry around another key) so I bought it.
Put it on last night and...
Something not many people mention is that the 3.0 diesel just kills your payload. It’s what, 400 lbs heavier than the 3.5 EB? Atleast with the PB you get extra GVWR to make up for some of the battery weight, but with the diesel you just have to take it.
It’d be a towing monster with all the...
7200 lbs trailer + family of 5 means you need every bit of payload possible. Option the truck to maximize that. I think that means a 157 WB 3.5EB with few options.
Finally picked up my F150 tonight after months and months of waiting (Oct 2020 order). While going through the paperwork with the dealer I noticed something very interesting.
In the paperwork they had the ‘measured curb weight’ of the truck. I have a 702A Platinum with the 157” wheel base...
Ok, looking at options for tonneau covers for my truck. I live in Seattle, so both weather protection as well as some level of security is necessary. Ontop of that, something that I don’t see mentioned very often that I’m thinking about is weight. Not looking to be a ‘ultra light weight...
Ugh - dealer calls back this morning - they mistook the truck that arrived - mine is still a week out. They did give me a full rail car printout of where it is. Truck is sitting on a train only 75 miles away… so close.
Well I dont want to give false hope to any of the ‘customer name missing’ people - but the dealer called today. My truck that says ‘In transit’, arriving 7/20….. is ready for pickup! Going to check it out tomorrow.
Ok, my tracker updated! For reference my truck is in transit, ETA range of 7/14 to 7/20. The update to the tracker is they removed my Customer Name. ????
Any idea how to figure out the method of shipment or tracking info just from the VIN? Mine shipped to WA state on 6/17. It originally said ‘y days’, but now has gone to ‘x to y days’ (shortening the time). I think it originally said 35 days to ship to WA, but I suspect it’ll be much faster...
Well looky looky, my truck is now showing a July 20 delivery date instead of 10/31. Hallelujah.
Edit: I should say, I’m still not sure I want this thing, will be going over it carefully before accepting. It’ll have been sitting for 4 months between ‘built’ and making its way to a transport train.
I spoke to my dealer today. According to them ‘Ford Corporate’ was in their store last week and nobody made any mention of re-ordering stuck trucks. Looks like this is a region to region variance. According to my dealer there are ‘no chips at all’ - aka no trucks anywhere are being built...
Thinking about this a bit more, I wonder how much wheelbase affects the dynamics. I bet the difference between a 145 and 157 inch wheelbase is a big difference between what’s comfortable and what’s not.
Yeah, I’m not a flat lander. I’m located in Seattle so pretty much every camping trip involves going over a cascades mountain pass.
We’ve tow our current RV ~8k miles / year, all around Canda, WA, OR, CA, etc.
