  1. Did any of you consider a GMC/Chevy with the 3.0 Duramax?

I had similar concerns. I was pretty sure the engine could handle it fine (they sell it in SUV’s ) but it was a concern. I almost put an order in for a Duramax truck (Silverado RST level) but the main things that caused me to pause at the time: - prices had just gone up - interest rate was at...
  2. State Farm Monster Loss Announced ~Insurance

Indeed, the basic coverage from ICBC is pretty darn low. They recently lowered it by severely limiting who/how you can sue. I believe the research was that most of their payouts were due to lawsuits. A couple examples in this thread of arguably outrageous amounts! Anyone have stats to State...
  3. 5.0 engine unavailable to KingRanch and Platnium 2024

I don't see how KR or Plat trims affect engine choices. I'd see it if they were limiting engine choices per body style (single cab only gets engine X, etc) but when I look at the differences of these trims, it's a lot of sensors and interior gadgets, which arent obviously needing any changes...
  4. Ford removing Park Assist from all vehicles

When I got an XLT, I had wished the front sensors and self-parking had been available. But with 360cameras, I’ve found I don’t need the sensors at all! And ITO parallel parking, my truck doesn’t fit in any of the spaces in my town anyway! lol
  5. What did you do WITH your F-150 today?

Had a ski trip planned and at the last second, decided to bring our mtn bikes. And it's a good thing: the ski hill closed today due to warm rain :-(. Definitely appreciate the Softopper. When we decided to bring the bikes, took about 15-20 min to take off the soft-roll toneau cover and put the...
  6. California Proposal To Limit Speeds To 10 Over Speed Limits!

And before too many more people jump all over “crazy-commie-liberal- California”, remember that since 1967, CA has had more GOP governors than Dem. (It’s even more lopsided as you go back to 1900!) Since 1900, CA has voted GOP presidents the same number of times its voted Dem presidents (tho...
  7. California Proposal To Limit Speeds To 10 Over Speed Limits!

Haha that was my exact thought. One dude introduces something kinda crazy and the world ignites! Take a deep breath people…. Breath in234, breath out234… The NY camera one was interesting… how is it different from speed cameras thst have been around since the 90’s? NJ had them (then took...
  8. What I really want is a luxury full size 4wd suv without 3rd row seating.

I pulled out the 3rd row from our minivan too. (Little known to the family at the time, this was the first step in getting ready for truck-life, lol!!)
  9. Permanent Drill/Bolt On Yakima Roof Rack Installed/Review

Very nicely done!! I debated putting on a roof rack after getting my truck and after seeing this, might still consider it: 1. One can never have too much storage, lol! 2. I have a Adarac which is great but looking at hauling double-kayaks, would prefer some more support further forward. 3. adds...
  10. So you decided to buy an ICE truck.... WHY?

For me, I really did consider the Lightning but shied away for many reasons: 1. Cost. For the LR battery, it was at least $20k more than the ICE WITH INCENTIVES. I could rent a ICE for some of the things listed below but then I'm paying even MORE money. 2. use-case. We wanted a 4x4 truck to go...
  11. So you decided to buy an ICE truck.... WHY?

Definitely feel free! Hydrogen is most definitely NOT the answer from everything I've researched. Its only advantage over BEV is refueling time. Fuel cells have a life span, hydrogen tanks are HEAVY, hydrogen losses are a thing, hydrogen embrittlement is a thing, efficiency losses to convert...

  13. 4A vs 4H Snow driving

22 XLT (so no 4A available) but 4H in the slush we had here was great; I would not fear using 4H with any snow/slush on the roads. Stock M&S tires were fine at the 32F temps we had. I also kept it in Eco mode; I found the Slippery mode was TOO sluggish. Since I drive Eco mode most the time, I...
  14. Why a Trailer with Bunks - AKA Competing with Snakebitten

Haven’t seen a triple bunk before. What trailer is that?
  15. vs. CyberTruck - A fair shake

I think it’s more useful to view the CT not as a ”truck” but as a “medium-range EV with large capacity”. (ie payload/towing). Doesn’t mean it’ll tow your RV across country or handle ALL payload needs, but compared to other EV’s, it has a lot of capacity. I see it as similar to the EV Hummer...
  16. What did you do WITH your F-150 today?

For some reason "Home Depot Dad" truck owners get sh!t on on most truck forums, lol! Truthfully, this is my FIRST HD run since buying this truck over a year ago. 4x8 Sheetrock, no problemo. And bonus: picked up some extra wood rounds no one wanted (and for good reason: they were a bear to split...
  17. Things i would like to see in 2024+ F-150

Back to topic, lol! id like to see: - latch for driver side rear seat. The aftermarket component is cheap and relatively easy to install, but no reason Ford can't do it straight away. - additional storage in armrest for non-working-surface trucks - if not that, then more trims/options to still...
  18. 2024 F-150 Earns KBB Best Buy Award for 2024 Best Full-Size Truck

I swear the companies and magazines all get together , like in some darkened, smoke-filled room, and agree which magazine will give #1 to which company so everyone gets an award, lol! im waiting for C&D, MT, R&T to vote the Ram, Silverado, and GMC as their #1 trucks (and Honda as #1 minivan...

FFS, dude…. Lighten up. This shit is not that serious…
  20. EV Sales Are Not Performing As Hoped - Letter To The president

Just skimming thru the (rather emotive) responses and I think I'm most shocked that so many people are siding with DEALERS here, lol!! I'm not too surprised (at the dealers' letter), tbh. How much do dealers make off extended warranties and service? I'm guessing it's not small...and EV's with...
