Finally received my truck and it was a pleasure. The dealer was very cooperative and actually submitted a claim against Ford to take care of rust. I only had moderate rust but I emphasized I wouldn't accept unless it was cleaned and a nickel chromate primer was applied. It didn't pass my first...
It's BLUE and with the AZ sunshine, most days of the year, I don't think anyone will be confused.
Picked up yesterday and it was a wonderful ride home ... what a pleasure!
Truck has arrived a day early to dealer and Ford Vehicle Order Tracker was actually somewhat accurate. Of course there was a minor level of rust and Dealer is being very cooperative. They actual open a claim against Ford and is in the process of cleaning rust locations, masking appropriately...
Mr. NY Cowboy, this is a crappy deal without a doubt.
The muffler and exhaust pipe deterioration is just strange.
Have you contacted/visited a custom muffler shop to see if this is consistent for these materials or what type of foreign material came in contact with these parts to cause this effect?
Awesome color and anxious to receive my Antimatter BLUE Limited later this week. The beauty of the forum is to voice opinions and respect each other for their personal selections and views.
Everyone is frustrated and action appears slow but I can assure you there are "tiger" teams working all these issues in the production arena. Although I didn't work at Ford I worked in a production environment for a major manufacturer before I retired.
I received my rail car number from my salesman at dealership. He's also providing me daily updates on the location of the truck. They have a more detailed tracker.
I've been following this forum and truck was made in Dearborn, it's widespread. Poor material selection and lack of application/quality coatings is the simple truth.

The pictures of the muffler/exhaust pipes is one of the worst...
Nice truck, great additions and the AMB is just stunning. There is some nasty stuff (granular) on the undercarriage which is eating away the metal. I would suggest getting a sample of the material for evidence, if needed in future. Interested in finding out what the dealer is proposing for...
Ditto! I'm not buying a used truck. I'll put my own rust on it after I take delivery of a clean truck with windows that go up and down, shifts gears, without cracks on windshield, etc. etc. etc.
Yes, you are moving through the process. I know it seems tedious, I felt the same pain and got really frustrated with the tracker, etc. but you had some off site action from 2/15 (built) to 2/21 when the truck was "Released" it took me 8 days to find a ride to AZ but the logistics of finding a...
Yes, all three trackers say "In transit". They all changed to "In transit" last Friday (3/5) and then provided # of days (estimate) to get to dealer based on 7 day semi transporter when the train gets to Phoenix area (estimated for 3/14). We shall see, like I said no champagne until it's parked...
Train arrived at Junction Point yesterday @ 9:33 ET in Gibson, IN (near Chicago). At some point it will be transferred to BNSF railway. My Dealer said he would give me daily updates.
I received confirmation my truck shipped Friday (3/5) with an expected delivery date of 3/20. I had a blend date of 2/12 and it was actually build on 2/18. I have a rail car number assigned (BNSF301029) and it's moving.
Ken, I'll keep you posted but like I said I haven't been very successful on websites but my dealer is very cooperative and feeding me information upon request. I'm sure we are on the same train that is expected to be in Phoenix area on 3/14.
Ben, we can only speculate on delays ranging from...
My Limited was awaiting a train (Ramp 51) to AZ for 8 days after being released on 2/24. It's been assigned a rail car # BNSF301029 (Canadian National Railways) and the Dealer provided some movement on 3/5. I'm now trying to figure out how to track railcar myself, I have a lead but haven't...
Super Aaron! Looks like a nice truck and if you got a great trade, in addition to having a NEW truck in driveway today, you have done well, glad you're enjoying :)
On a side note, I just received confirmation my truck shipped yesterday (3/5) and expected delivery date of 3/20 but no champagne...
It's a beauty, I really like the color and I saw a Limited at local dealer yesterday with the AMB for the first time, exciting for you!! ... how does the undercarriage look?
It's really simple ... proper material selection or appropriate surface preparation and coating = no rust. Ford made a choice in their design and failed to hold paint shop accountable for defect at delivery.
