Good news! My dealership actually emailed me, out of the blue.
The bad news is I'm one of the many here who reserved in the first 15 minutes and somehow ended up way down the list at the dealership. I don't know how many reservations this dealership has but the guy said I'm 20th on the list...
I'm trying to understand why one document says (I'm paraphrasing) "Dealers, stop damaging our reputation by screwing customers with markups" and also includes "Customers, you can't resell the lightning". Are these things related?
To me, the reason that a dealer shouldn't mark up this car is...
Well I hate to even say it but it's possible that the lariat ER battery is mistakenly included in the feature package. It's just not consistent to charge 10,000 for just the battery (if you buy an XLT) vs. 10,000 for the battery plus tow tech, moonroof, co-pilot 360 2.0, heated rear seats, etc...
The reality is sinking in that there just aren't very many 2022 builds available to go around. If 20,000 are built out of 200,000 reservations, that means the average dealer with 100 reservations will only get 10 total. Divide that by 6 waves and it's not going to get much better than 1 or 2...
My guess is that everyone that wanted an XLT ER is upset. And since that pushes people out of that build, it probably impacts some people planning on taking other builds. It's so high that many here wonder if it's a mistake.
I guess that takes the pressure off in deciding whether or not I can afford an 80,000 dollar truck. At number 15 at my dealership, I should be in wave 3 of 2024.
I'm kidding, I know there is a ramp up. I reserved about 5 minutes into the presentation. I'm about 15 on the thousand or so...
Oh, like a power switch to turn on various things like screen, radio, etc.. Makes sense. Thanks. It's sort of like turning the ignition key to the first click. I had a feeling it was a dumb question.:)
This may be a dumb question but what would a "push start" button do on an electric car? If they change from a manual key to a remote key, do you need a button if there is no engine to start? And I assume there is still some shifter to take if from a parked state to a ready to drive state...
I understand the concern but after having gone through this process with the Bronco, I don't plan on hesitating. You can always decline at payment time if bad news comes out or you don't like the way it drives. And given the number of reservations vs the expected production, this one may be in...
For me that's a "cross that bridge when I get to it" kind of thing. I am just hoping for an invite. It will be rough waiting for two weeks wave after wave if the invite doesn't happen.
I went through the order process for the bronco and had to make changes to the trim level and options due...
I'm Kevin. I joined to keep up with the news and updates on the Ford Lightning. After waiting a year to get a Bronco I'm now in line for a Lightning. Hopefully the wait is a little smoother.
I agree that it seems pretty basic. My remote rattled in the ash tray for years. I finally added some weather strips in the ash tray to cushion it so it wouldn't rattle. Built in would be nice.
I just checked and confirmed that my bronco didn't come with it unless I had upgraded to the...
I'm confused by the concern over the garage door opener. I agree that a built in opener would be nice but I assume all garage door openers come with remote controls. We keep those in our cars, which admittedly are older cars. Other than the convenience of not having a remote in the car, does...
