Used to be you lost 20% when you drove it off the lot, but of course it's way different these days. Lets say Ford doesn't require you to agree not to sell your brand new $80k Lariat - what do you think the resale value would be on day 1?
This is the answer, all the other Lightnings that exist were essentially artisan hand-made versions. These are the 1st consumer-facing trucks to go down the line, and they want to work the bugs out on those.
Plenty of folks (like myself) will be driving Lightnings this year with no complaints about the process. Ask the folks who reserved the Cybertruck in November of 2019 how they feel right about now. There are Rivian reservation holders from 2018 that are waiting AND got their prices raised...
Way to prove my point by labeling anyone you don’t agree with as a “Ford apologist”. We get it, you didn’t make the cut to get a truck this year but damn, lots of folks with real problems in the world right now.
If only that was the world we live in. Pandemic, supply chain, potential WW3 be damned, I PAID MY MONEY I DESERVE MY TRUCK! Sorry folks, everyone these days is doing the best they can, what do you get by getting so angry about it? Cancel your reservation and move on.
Looking at the decoder page above, looks like there's also a alphabetical component to the numerical sequence identifier - mine is G, then the 5 digit number on the VIN and I have a 5/23 build date. What's yours?
Spray-in bedliners are causing delays for all F-150 builds, not just Lightning (check the google). I actually removed mine from the order due to this. Can your dealer do the same, and you just get Line-X once it's delivered?
