I got another one of these today. What is funny to me is that Ford sent me this exact same email a few weeks ago and then sent an apology. And now they made the same mistake again. Great work Ford!
"You recently received an email regarding the F-150 Lightning™ and home charging installation...
I reserved a Bronco within 24 hours on July 14th. With the Bronco launch, you also indicated the trim you wanted. Ford then produced a time table for orders many months later. We were invited by Ford corporate to convert our reservation to an order in December of 2020. The Dealer called...
Reading this as someone who had a 2021 Bronco Order accepted 15 months ago which was converted to a 2022 and still has no build date in sight.
Honestly this thread is so strange. Almost everyone defending Ford is completely ignoring the things I said in my OP and just talking about other random stuff.
Nobody is arguing that the Reservation was some binding contract or that the reservation guaranteed a 2022 Lightning. It's the...
I was told by my dealership in the fall (including the sales manager) that given my reservation spot, that I was virtually certain to get a 2022. My reservation confirmation said it was for a 2022. They had over 730 reservations and then ended up only getting 6 MY2022. They were...
what echochamber? I’m here voicing complaints and most people are disagreeing with me. Do you know what an echo chamber is?
Ford will continue to sell a ton of trucks. But they bungled the launch of the bronco and the lightning. Those two ideas are not mutually exclusive. Tesla makes huge...
this is a ford lightning ordering forum, and I’m labeling people who are making excuses for a massive corporation “ford apologist”
this thread is literally in an ordering forum and it is literally titled “is it fair to be mad at ford” and you are saying that my complaints are not good because...
a lot of ford apologists around here. Nobody is saying that they shouldn’t have to be patient. I’m not angry that I’m still waiting. I’m angry about the list of things I put in my OP, which you apologists all seem to completely ignoee.
Ford is going to fulfill less than 1% of reservations at my...
Not just because I placed a non-binding reservation. But because I reserved a truck within the first 20 minutes. And because I was in the top 2% of reservations at my dealership. (Ford would only have to produce 4,000 trucks to satisfy 2% of the first 200,000 reservations). Ford didn’t...
I’m not saying it is a bait-and-switch on pricing. I’m saying the pricing for the Lariat ER is stupid.
And I don’t think you can really give Ford that much credit foot producing an electric pickup truck at “scale.” They produce a massive amount of vehicles every year, and it looks like they...
I'm pissed at Ford. But is it fair? Do I just need to be patient and happy? First, I want to lay out the excuses for Ford.
Global pandemic, duh!
Supply chain problems
Demand was way more than they expected
There are too many unknowns for Ford to be much more transparent without causing more...
I applaud your optimism and I hope you are right. My wife is still waiting on a Bronco we were supposed to have like 6 months ago, so I’m a little more cynical about Ford actually following through. But hey, they sent me a calendar and poster! So maybe we’ll get some great LIghtning Swag...
I hope you are right on this, but I don’t see how you could possibly have any idea about this. My dealership has ensured I will not be getting a 2022, because I”m 14th out of 734 and they are only getting 6 this year, but they have no information about when 2023 orders would go in or when...
5/19 at 7:48 (Mountain time) reservation. I knew I wouldn't be in wave 3, (or 4, 5, or 6), but because I apparently like to be irritated by this process, I logged on to check anyway to really drive home the disappointment :)
Did they give you any time frame to expect? Funny enough I talked to my dealer about ordering a BAP Platinum and they told me those are taking more than 6 months.
If there were 200,000 reservations and you only consider 2000 dealerships, that is only 100 reservations per dealership. If you consider 3000 dealerships, it is 66 reservations per dealership. So your dealership with 485 and my dealership with 734 (or so) should get substantially more than...
