We've owned several hybrids and currently have two 2015 Honda Accord hybrids. If you go easy on the go pedal you can get 700 miles of range on 14 gallons of gas. Running and parking in EV mode with no engine running is just another bonus. Listening to tunes and AC running with engine off on hot...
Were still waiting for the consumer EV that everyone can afford. Cars priced in the 45-150K price point won't sell well to the general public. If Elon is a master at controlling the news media and driving demand for unavailable products.
Our last two vehicles were purchased with 60 month zero percent financing. I don't expect that with the Lightning or the Silverado EV. I do know I'm not paying 90-105K for any pickup truck. As Dave Ramsey says buying any vehicle is the worst investment you can make.
This might date me but when I was growing up a regular cab long bed pickup truck was the cheapest vehicle you could buy. It wasn't until they went from work truck to status symbol that the prices started escalating. Love seeing all the empty beds running up and down the local roads.
I'm just going to stick with the XLT premium. I don't like leather seats or the 15 inch tablet. The only other options I would like to see is the sun roof, power up/down tailgate and power sliding cab window. I have never used homelink with any of my 3 garaged cars/trucks. We prefer to use an...
I also received the email from Ford. Nothing that I did not already know but at least they are communicating. Does not really matter to me what model year I receive as long as I get one. I'm just glad I got in a reservation before they closed down the site. Hoping for an XLT premium in Ice Blue...
This ordering system seems pretty straight forward and simple. Ford seems to have learned from their Bronco and Mach E models. I'm not a dealer but if I had customers who had purchased several vehicles from me I would tend to give them the priority as there more of a sure thing. A reservation...
We are also still waiting on Tesla to produce a car priced for the masses and not the wealthy. EV cars will never grab market share from ICE until prices are comparable or even lower. They've also got to deal with the bad press of battery manufacturing and mining of lithium from 3rd world...
We just had a new home completed in July of 2019. We have 225 amp service and three panels. Two outside and one in the garage. The 225 amp panel in the garage has room for additional double pole breakers and is on the side of the garage where we will be parking the EV. So it looks like we just...
I have worked for several IT companies during my career. And we always tried to have our spare parts inventory and support channels ready to go at a new product launch. Should be the same for any EV company hoping to provide great customer service.
I would agree. I've never heard anyone say that their car had too much storage space. I have an 04 Excursion and while the kids were growing up and we had multiple pets traveling with us there were times when storage was in short supply.
Great point on the frunk. In looking at some of the smaller EUV's some are still putting the electric motor in the front where the ICE would be. I would expect a frunk on all EV's.
I will also be going with an XLT premium with extended battery. I don't like leather and prefer the smaller 12 inch display to that 15 inch portrait tablet that sticks above the dash. For the price of the Platinum you could buy 2 of the Pros. That is a huge price delta for a few upgrades. And...
I spent some time last night doing a lot of research on Rivian. It really turned me off more on the company than the product. I don't like the 4 foot bed or the luxury pricing in a supposedly off road truck. Going to be fun finding options for that short bed. They seem to be making the same...
What I would look for is battery, drive train and software improvements. Seems like every company is working on a more efficient and powerful battery. Ranges need to be competitive with similiar model ICE counterpart models. Also need to be working on recharge times.
We took delivery of a 2021 Nissan Sentra for my 18 year old daughter after her previous car was totaled. I cosigned a loan for her so she could start to establish her credit. I went through the normal process of negotiating price with several dealers. Once we settled on the dealer and received...
