For me, it's the fact that summer is here and with a school teacher wife, our summer plans are cancelled if we wait till August. Already cancelled our spring break and spring plans. Enough is enough. Need a truck to pull our camper...current truck can't manage it.
I changed my mind, you can remove me from this list. I found a used '21 locally for sale, very similar to the one I ordered with only 24,000 miles on it but $12,000 cheaper. I've already got it reserved. Some other lucky soul can have the one I ordered, whenever it arrives.
I'd like to say...
Just spoke with dealer, he confirmed that the truck I ordered was still on Ramp 51 where it's been for 3 weeks. He confirmed that Ford does not allow an independent contractor to go pick up a truck...one last check on it Friday and if it hasn't shipped, I'm buying something else that will tide...
I figure at least they would require an independent contractor since we technically don't own them yet, which is fine by me. We could probably find an independent to do it cheaper than the $1500 they'll charge for delivery at the dealership anyway. I'm going to ask my dealer about it Friday...
You can move me back to a delivery ETA of May 18th - 24th. Just got the email. But I'm with my Kansas brother on this...if it hasn't shipped yet, it'll more likely be June.
...but also noticed that some of the details weren't quite right like black interior instead of slate and regular box instead of 6.5. I thought that was weird...
I will be interested to hear from you guys getting your trucks delivered all of a sudden if they are complete, not missing any chips. I saw an article from two weeks ago stating that Ford was going to start shipping trucks that are still missing chips with a promise to install the missing chips...
I would happily take delivery of a mostly completed truck with a, "we owe you a chip"note. As long as it runs. I can do without a power tailgate, or lane keeping for a few months...whatever chip happens to be missing.
