I believe the simplest answer is the best answer. You wouldn't want to use lead acid batteries, even marine/deep cycle batteries, when you are powering electronics that are going to deep-cycle a battery. There's a rechargeable lithium battery available which handles charge and discharge cycles...
The DC converter goes only from the high voltage system to the 12v system. It does not go the other way around. Well it could, but it makes zero sense and would require huge cables. There is no reason why you would want to charge the high voltage system with the low voltage system even if it did...
To clarify, the batteries are isolated in that one won’t charge the other(that would be bad).
I can’t come up with a good theory as to why there needs to be an auxiliary 12v battery. The only thing I can come up with is that the aux 12v battery provides all accessory power when key off to avoid...
After looking at the upfitter guide and Ford marketing about how the hybrid system works, I would like to put forth my theory.
In “key on”/truck is “running”, all low voltage systems are powered by the high voltage battery via the DC-DC converter. When the truck is “off”, any low voltage load...
The Ford package details say tuned front shocks. I don't think they're anything special. I'm pretty positive that the rear shocks are the same as non-FX4. I swapped my rears with Bilstein 5100. Bilstien hasn't released front 5100s yet but I'm doing those as soon as they're available.
Does anybody know of a metal plate that replaces that fiberboard like covering that's under the oil pan? It needs to have a cut out for the oil drain so I don't have to take the thing off everytime.
I know RCI makes one. I have a Powerboost and they said that their plate does not fit the...
Mine only came with stickers. In the towing booklet it specifically states that the sensor is included with Raptor and all other trims is a separate purchase.
I wanted to add that I had this same problem after a bedliner install.
Apparently what happened was that they turned the truck on with the tailgate disconnected. The procedure outlined in the owners is correct. What it doesn't tell you is that a service tech has to do it with the truck in...
