Tim is the man and a very rare exception in the industry. The vast majority of dealers have been doing the absolute bare minimum for decades and cashing their middle man check.
I think there is a good chance other vehicles would work that support V2G or V2H like the Hyundai Ioniq5. Ford has partnered with Sunrun to make it work and nothing I've seen is proprietary to Ford. Wallbox for example has announced their newest charger, the Quasar 2 will allow vehicles to be...
The Silverado is also designed to be an EV from the ground up whereas Ford shoehorned batteries into the current F-150 to get to market faster. $40k seems unlikely to be widely available just like the Lightning Pro. I'm curious to know how you like the Ioniq 5, shoot me a PM when you get a chance.
Ford has no business selling/advertising the PRO at $40k. That was a pure PR move and could end up tarnishing the brand depending on future commodity prices/inflation and Ford's production plans going forward. I HIGHLY doubt Ford is making money on retail PROs, which is why first year production...
I wonder how many of those people opted to wait for a Pro SR model. That was my intention and then I did enough mental gymnastics to justify a Lariat ER haha.
I applaud Rivian for realizing their mistake and realistically I don't think they had a choice if they wanted to survive. The loss in reservation deposits (aka cancellations) would have been reported in their Q2 earnings and their stock price would have gotten crushed. That's what this is all...
You're right, except Ford makes you choose a dealer BEFORE placing the order. A lot of shady Bronco dealers out there refusing to put things in writing and then springing $5k ADMs on customers at delivery who've been waiting patiently for 12+ months.
I understand where you're coming from, but not when Ford leaves out critical information like 50% of all Lightnings will go to ZEV states, dealers are free to prioritize orders for their friends/family/staff or charge whatever ADMs they want. Ford is beholden to their dealer network and...
I think about this often. Most of the charging stops I use on 4+ hour road trips are at Sheetz gas stations so by the time I take the dog out, use the restroom and get some food my charge session is pretty much done. It works out quite well.
I completely agree with you. What’s the point of selecting a dealer during the reservation process when there is so much variation in pricing? Time stamps should have been the only thing that matters and the buyer should have been able to shop that reservation around to whichever dealer offers...
I'm not sure if this has been discussed to death, but I wanted to share my order experience in case it's helpful to other folks.
I made a reservation later than most (early morning after the unveiling) and I surprisingly just got invited in Wave 3. I originally selected a NJ dealer, but once I...
You may not want to hear this, but the MME would be a better vehicle for your commute. As others have mentioned, aerodynamics and outside temperature have a very large impact on real world range. Cutting it close for your daily commute will get old very fast.
