Not sure if it’s a good sign but I have a VIN number. I am thinking it is not necessarily an indicator of when my Mach-E will actually be built. My build week is still 10/18/2021.
Reservations:
Ford Lightning 6/3/2021 (around 90,000th)
R1T 3/20/2021 (around 50,000th)
I don’t think it is a speculation that delivery of truck from either company is a long way off.
The silver lining……
It is true that the bugs will be worked out and we may get in on some of the battery and charging break throughs. The charging network will be more complete.
The downside for me is that I am 69 and running out of runway.
Thanks for the silver lining reminder.
What do you think the conversion rate will be?
I think it may be as high as 80%. It will also depend on when and if Ford can reach 80,000 in 2023.
Only time will tell.
I was late to reserve my R1T and the Lightning, so I have myself and the mad rush for EV trucks to blame.
Reservations are up to 150,000.
Ford has announced they will hire additional folks and infuse additional money. This is good news but is it enough?
For mid to late reservations I think it still means a 2-3 yrs of waiting.
On the flip side for us mid to late reservations there are no...
Ford announced that they doubled their production goal from 7,500 to 15,000 for 2022. Their goal for 2023 is 55,000.
As of 6/9/21 Ford had 100,000 reservations. My reservation is 6/3/21 so I am about 90,000th in line. Math says roughly 2.5 yrs.
My 2021 Mach-E is supposed go into production the week of 10/18/21. I am expecting that to slip but hopefully not too much.
Truth be told I prefer the Rivian as it suits my needs better. I made late reservations for the Lightning and the Rivian so I will be waiting a long time for either.
Thanks.
The Lightning is my backup for the Rivian as I thought I might be able to get the Lightning before the R1T but ……. I am now thinking/realizing that getting an EV truck in the next 2 yrs. is a daydream.
My reservation date is 6/3/21. From what I have read that puts me somewhere in the 90000th group. With a production goal of 15,000 for 2022 and 55,000 for 2023 I should get my truck in 2+ years. Does this sound right?
