I'm confused. Are you trying to keep it in electric mode when accelerating? My ICE always comes on when I hit the gas from a stop. The MPG gains from the hybrid are during coasting and slowing down when your ICE can turn off and still cruise along at the desired speed. Accelerating is almost...
It says Blue Cruise 1.2 is "available on select 2023 Ford vehicles". Does that mean us '21 & '22 people will not get the updates? I don't see any new hardware required.
I do that at home, but in Jackson, there was a whole row of empty parking spots for "Hybrid Vehicles Only" that a Prius and I had all to ourselves. They also did not charge for those spots, so it certainly had its perks parking there.
Unfortunately, after a few incidents with uninformed...
No ticket for me, but we were in Jackson Hole, WY and they had hybrid parking spots by all of the restaurants/shopping.
We got several snide remarks, including one lady ranting about me "Being a typical Texan who doesn't care about the environment" and multiple people "trucks can't park...
Great pics and write up. We did a similar trip this summer from Dallas and went to Moab/Arches, Jackson Hole, Grand Teton, Yellowstone, and Montana.
Here were a couple of my observations:
My PB loved the ethanol free gas in Wyoming and Montana. Some days I would get 30+ mpg while going...
Me too, and I came here specifically to see what's up. If you read the last few pages of this thread Tonesto is aware and working on it. In my layman's terms, Ford keeps jacking with the back end and Tonesto has to keep reacting to their changes.
I trust in his ability but ultimately if he...
Yes and no. Yes it will run the A/C, but the engine will still have to run periodically to recharge the batteries.
I used mine for a tailgate last weekend. I was more concerned with it powering the TV than the A/C inside of the truck, but the engine kicked on for 1-2 minutes about every...
This morning I was loading up the truck for a weekend of kids sporting events. Unfortunately, the fold up chair I had next to the truck fell over and hit the brake light. At first, I wasn't too worried since the chair is pretty light, but after I looked it created about a 4 inch long crack in...
I'll apologize in advance if this is a stupid question, as I have not kept up with this thread since I've been updated.
A month ago I turned off the automatic updates since there seemed to be an issue with one of the updates for the '21 trucks. Has that been resolved and can I turn back on...
Mine does it as well. It reminds me when we would take the kids bowling when they were younger and they would use the bumpers. The ball would stay in the lane, but bounce off the left bumper, then the right bumper, etc as it went down the lane.
My assumption is that this is Ford's first...
I wish I could get ethanol free near me, but I tracked 1,600 miles through Wyoming and Montana a few weeks ago and ended up getting 28.5 on average. Some of my shorter trips where I was gentle were 30+ mpg, and of course it was lower on the highway at speeds of 75+.
As a quick update, I'm back home and through 2 tanks of gas with ethanol. The mpg for those 2 tanks was 21.0. Sure I can get higher mpg for short trips, especially when in eco mode, but it certainly is not getting anywhere close to what I was getting with ethanol-free.
I'm sure there is...
Heck, if you still have the license, want to check my VIN: 1FTFW1EDXMFB09093
I've had 1 OTA since updating to BC, so I'm curious how well the OTAs are keeping up.
I have not found a good DFW dealer, and sounds like you are in the same boat. There is one under construction near me and several neighbors and I have our fingers crossed that they will be decent whenever they open. If you happen to find a good one, let me know.
