  1. Burning Oil

Hopefully I can explain it correctly. The way I took it is that with the cylinder deactivation there is a spring that holds the valves in the closed position. This is to stop oil from entering the combustion chamber. I guess there was a bad patch of springs (weak). This allowed the valve to drop...
  2. Burning Oil

Well here is an update on the KR. IN the shop and is being torn apart to replace the PS head. Seems that all the oil burning is coming from that bank. Truck is currently sitting at 14000km and she has consumed just under 16 liters of oil. Every spark plug on the PS is toast according to the...
  3. Clunking Noise in Rear End

I have the same noise but it seems to happen when I get on the accelerator of off. It almost feels like new u-bolts were installed and not tightened properly. Took it to the local dealer and they said it was some plastic shims that go between the axle and the leaf spring. Two days later the...
  4. Canadian Vehicles Ordered/Delays/Delivery Dates

Good thing I found one on a lot in BC. I just received a call from the dealer in Calgary saying that the one I had ordered was not coming in. This dealership stated that they had 65 trucks that have been cancelled. I informed him that I had cancelled the order over 6 months ago.
  5. BC Ford dealers

I purchased my truck at Chilliwack Ford. I live in the NWT but they could not get what I wanted and Chilliwack had one on the lot. Great service. I cannot say anything about after sales service as I do not live there.
  6. Burning Oil

It is going into the shop in 2 weeks. The head mech says he knows it is the heads but ford wants them to tear it apart to make sure that is the problem. Every time I start the truck even if it has only sat for 30 min it blows a lot of blue smoke. The sad thing is the shop said that once they...
  7. Burning Oil

Well here is an update on the 2021 KR 5.0l. I am now at 9600km and she has burnt through 11.5 liters of oil. All the dealership is saying is that they are continuing to monitor it. Holy crap at what point do they turn around and say Houston we have a problem here and fix it. anyone want to buy a...
  8. Burning Oil

I have purchased 6 brand new vehicles in my life. I have never had one burn through a liter of oil every 1000km. I have taken video of start up showing the massive amount of blue smoke that comes out of the exhaust. I am now sitting at 9000km and have burnt 9.5 liters of oil. This is not normal.
  9. 2021 5.0 oil consumption

Crap, that sucks. I can keep adding oil till they get heads.
  10. 2021 5.0 oil consumption

8300km on my 5.0 and I have gone through 8 liters of oil. Very big puff of blue smoke on start up. Ford wants more data before they will decided to change the heads. The local Ford mech knows what it is but says his hands are tied by Ford as to when they can do the repair.
  11. Burning Oil

Well Ford is tracking the oil consumption and I am currently burning oil at a rate of about one liter per 1000km. As of right now the dealership knows what the issue is but states that Ford will not authorize the repair till they get more data. Like what do they want? you fire the truck up and...
  12. Oil consumption 2021

I am going through the same thing. I have gone through 5 liters of oil in 4200km. Currently sitting at the Ford dealer waiting to hear back from Ford on what to do. The head mech informed me that Ford had a bunch of bad heads. This is not only a 5.0 problem it is also the 2.5 and 3.5 motors. I...
  13. Burning Oil

No I normally only do one remote start then go. I assume that this is more than just a little burning of oil. Thing is there is no oil underneath this thing.
  14. Burning Oil

  15. Burning Oil

Hopefully it is a one off. It was smoking on start up when I first picked it up and was told by the dealer that a little smoke like that was normal during break in. I told him that was one of the stupidest things I have heard. I will make a point of going back to that same service advisor and...
  16. Burning Oil

Yes sorry it is the 5.0l
  17. Burning Oil

Well the new ford is going into the shop. It has burnt a total of 5 liters of oil in 4200km. I am thinking that is a bit excessive. Will see what Ford has to say when they look at it.
  18. Kodiak Brown

    Damn I love that color.
  19. Kodiak Brown

Well Red did not work out so Black it is. Very happy with it so far 3500km.
  20. Smoke on start up

It is a bit more than a puff that's for sure. The last time I started it there was a blue cloud that cam over the cab and hood of the truck. Local dealership is going to watch it through oil consumption to see if it is a major or minor issue. Sucks to pay $85000+ on a truck to have it blowing...
