I think longterm (20 years) this first gen will be desirable by being the simplest to repair and upgrade down the road. I mean parts sharing with a vehicle they make 900k of a year and the potential ability to fit in future improved batteries between the frame rails is ideal. If the second gen...
What happens when the 2023 Pro is sold out wave 1 with only 500 made and or they increase the base price next year? Would you consider going to the XLT+ if your were able to order a 2022?
Realistically I feel like every year until demand is gone they will limit the Pro to push people to the higher trims. That way they can say they still offer it but never have to commit to leaving money on the table. Its a smart business plan but it sucks on the consumer end.
I'd be more inclined to go for the powerboost if it was more of a PHEV than mostly an electrified ICE. From what I have heard you don't get as much of an MPG benefit beyond start and stop in cities.
Not quite as easy but in the future when the truck is considered very old and the original batteries are toast I bet you could do that and swap the original battery location doing a DIY electric swap. This is similar to what people are doing converting ICE cars now. But plugging into the outlet...
I received this email and saw that I had been pre-approved on the reservation page right before wave 1. The amount was the same for both. I did not get a wave 1 invite.
With the no sale provision similar to what they do with the Ford GT I would expect a bunch of people to now have to seriously consider if they wanted this truck 100%.
You are paying for the privilege of ordering the cheapest truck available once the Pro sells out. And you don't get the rear lightbar until the Lariat.
