It is one thing for a dealer to say upfront they are adding ADM or add ons, so you can decide to pay those or take your business elsewhere. Bait and switch is dishonest and needs to be rooted out.
I am very happy for the 20K or so folks who are on their path to owning a MY 22 F150L. For the roughly 180K remaining reservation holders (well, the subset who are on this forum anyway), what do you make of the desired configuration note that Ford reportedly sent to dealers? I am somewhat...
I certainly have not surveyed the 3000 or so Ford dealers to verify that most dealers are converting abandoned orders to dealer stock and selling above MSRP, which is why I prefaced with "it seems".
Nevertheless, I want my assessment to be wrong and for every abandoned order to be sold at or...
I agree with Kevin C. It seems that most dealerships mark up stock inventory and abandoned orders above MSRP. An abandoned order essentially becomes dealer stock and there are supposed to be safeguards in place by Ford to validate the abandonment. However lots of games can be played to cause...
If Ford were to sell me a Pro in 2023-2024 and still offer Ford Options, I'd be inclined to go that route, even with the $500 disposal fee and whatever bitter pills Ford wants me to swallow. Not a definite, as the devil is in the details, but leaning that way.
Of course the big IF is whether...
Whatever they do, I think they will be very protective of the lower end trims and do whatever packaging they can to drive demand more upmarket as much as they can to increase their margins.
Geeze, my fantasy didn't last very long......
If I ever get invited to order the Pro I'd select max tow. My thinking may be off, but here it is:
-My occasional (local) towing is close to the 5,000 pound max (and what if I get a bigger boat?)
-Max Towing doesn't cost much and probably adds to resale value if/when that time comes.
-It is now...
Just noticed on the build and price that the max tow package is now $825, compared to $865 previously. Anybody else notice that? I'll take any price reductions I can get.?
An article referenced May for anticipated resumption retail dealer allocations for F150 due to 37 vendors not supplying commodities timely. Think it was automotive news IIRC, but don't know how, or if, this relates to custom F150L orders. Don't want to spread misinformation, so please do your...
Ford's move is more of a pivot to the GM Saturn dealership model than the Tesla model......but with vehicles that people are enthusiastic about buying, unlike what was the case with Saturn.
Just browsed an article on TheStreet that reported a hummer EV being advertised for $325k, private flip sale. There is dealer ADM and then there are flippers. Rough time to be buying.

According to the above, Subaru sold out its Solterra reservations in 3 days, rather than 3 weeks....such amateurs.
Subaru launched their 2023 Solterra with a 3 week reservation window. Granted Subaru produces a fraction of the vehicles that Ford produces. I have no idea how many reservations Subaru received or whether Subaru will be able to convert a high percentage of these reservations to sales in the...
Commodity constraints could dictate production. Need the EPA certification prior to delivery, hopefully that's just a formality and is baked into the anticipated delivery schedules. Hope to see some on the roads and as mannequins on dealer lots soon.
So that's what Ford meant when they said dealers would lose allocation....
they lose that current allocation. I guess losing that sale and not getting a replacement allocation hurts the dealer. I was under the impression that the dealer would lose future allocation as well, but I may have...
