Was just at the Cleveland auto show this week. The Lariat Lightning on display sticker price was only $2k more than the ICE Lariat sitting about 30 ft away.
We want it b/c we like the utility of a truck but also need it to be a daily driver. With my husband's long commute, the fuel costs made...
Exactly. I would never consider the Lightning to be an investment. It's money we are spending because it meets many needs/wants for us. It isn't something that would've been an option for us financially even a few years ago.
Well I'll join you in being happy b/c I wanted a Lariat with Active 2.0 and all the trailer features and that price is pretty much where it looked like it would be from the survey.
I didn't pay much attention to the XLT pricing, so I have nothing to be mad about there.
But if that bill puts an...
This would be a pretty big deal. It makes me nervous not knowing the status of that bill. But given that I'll be lucky to get 2022 at all, at least we should know the outcome of it before I order. Silver lining I guess...
Agreed. I think the prices are pretty in line with what was in the survey.
But i guess if you hadn't seen that info on these forums before today, the prices might be shocking.
This is so true. My husband and I went to see an F150 in person in December and it alleviated most of his concern about price and my concern about comfort. (My Dad has a Silverado that I'm used to driving and it isn't the most comfortable for me for some reason.) And seeing all the features in...
I definitely didn't mean to imply that the dealer was just making up email addresses out of thin air. Of course he would need the customer's own email address. But that's easy - the dealer just says "Sure, I'll take care if that for you - is your email address the one we have on file?"
That...
Of course dealers weren't "allowed" to make reservations for anyone, but you don't think if a long time loyal customer walked through the door and basically told him to reserve a truck for him, that dealer wouldn't go online, set up an account for him, and make his reservation? He'd just say...
I was thinking that exact thing as I read this. Perhaps the dealer set up an account for him and took care of reserving the Lightning in his name, trying to be helpful to a long time customer.
But that doesn't mean invitations will go out right down that original list. The dealers can prioritize, and Ford can follow that or not, or bump a totally different person up. It seemed clear that dealers won't know for sure who's getting invites until Ford gives them the names before each wave.
I take "directly before" to mean they'll only get a very short lead time on when customers are notified. Similar to if they had said "right before." But that's only my interpretation.
Did your dealer specifically say that you were getting an invitation to order in the first wave? I wonder if they found out their allocations but don't have the names of customers that are getting first wave invites yet.
As of Dec 16th, mine didn't know their specific allocation number but...
I was talking to my husband about this. I have LKA, lane follow, and adaptive cruise control on my new Hyundai. He drove it to work (a two hr commute) and said he had a very hard time not dozing off b/c it didn't require enough attention from him. So the ability of the Lightning to monitor your...
I'm not in the trades, but it stopped being a real option for me once it hit me that I very likely wouldn't be able to reach down into the bed of the truck near the cab due to the high sloped sides. I'd have to reach over/around them, and I'm not tall enough. Maybe that's not the end of the...
Nope, I thought the 1st design was cohesive with its proportions and all over angles. Not all that attractive in my eyes, but at least a cohesive design.
Now I think it looks confused, with the shorter curvy front end, and angled sharp back end.
(And taking reservations on what turns out to be...
