I’ve seen the SmartCaps. Nice but not what I wanted. I’ve got a Caravan Camper Shell with roof racks. Steel top with several models and options but you must pick up no delivery. These are custom made to order unless you can find a used top but for our newer trucks, no chance...
I have an American made steel top custom made only in Reno, NV by Caravan Camper Top. See their website for models and options. I didn’t order it to camp in but it wouldn’t bother me to. Side window with removable screen and top vent. Mine is a hybrid of two of their models.

I did the build and price on the F150 and Ranger for months. Then decided on the F150. Kept coming back to the XL STX. Found the XL STX with the options I wanted and bought it. Absolutely no regrets and I appreciate the savings from higher end models. Plus I got $2000 off MSRP, wheel well...

A friend of mine who only pays cash for everything reminded me that car dealerships are not your friend. I didn’t think the slimy dealers still existed until I tried to buy a ‘21 F-150 from Frontier Ford, Anacortes; WA.
I scrolled through the dealership website and it’s not just the XL’s with a $14k dealer markup. They have 9 pages of F-150’s available which seems to be quite a bit.
I hope that I’d never been desperate enough to buy any vehicle with a dealer markup.
I paid $2000 off msrp for my 21 XL STX...
