  1. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

This is not "accounted" for when you start increasing speed. It's accounted for based on same test cycles. In other words, the EPA ratings don't scale / provide a dynamic range based on speed -- it has two numbers City and Highway. The highway range tests for EPA cycles are not fast. This is...
  2. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

The argument makes sense because the bigger the car, the less efficient it becomes at greater speeds compared to smaller cars. Not real numbers. But if the mach-e gets a 5% penatly driving at 75 vs 70mph, then the Lightning is going to get a 10% penalty.
  3. 🛠 5/30 Lightning Build Week Group

No updates on Ford about my order since placing it. I just check ford.com for status update as it's clear Ford doesn't understand how emails work.
  4. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

Ford does not understate the Mach-e range. This is highly deponent on how the car is driven, and the environment. There is a persuasive myth that Mach-e manages to blow away it's EPA numbers, then people apply that to the Lightning. Mach-e does do better than most of these range tests, but...
  5. The Levine Twitter parade continues: 134 kW @ 65% SOC

There are certainly dead spots, but most Major routes the US have 150kW+ charging and that is going to improve each Month. I'm pretty sure I can drive from California to New York and hit a 150kW+ charger for every charge along the way. I didn't check every one, but I spot checked most and they...
  6. The Levine Twitter parade continues: 134 kW @ 65% SOC

So Rivian and..... Hyundai/Kia Tesla GM (Hummer) Porsche Audi Lucid are taking more risk w/ their cells? Or is it that they just have more advanced charging tech? I think the latter. Ford has 1 real EV in it's portfolio (Mach-e). It's not exactly a EV powerhouse, unless you want to count...
  7. ⏳ The Official Launch (4/26) Countdown is On - Join us to watch the launch of the F-150 Lightning

Consumer trucks are being built as we speak, it's a fact. It's not rocket science, Ford has standard process to see this information and it's public. A post just from Yesterday had a guy taking video of production cars sitting in Ford's lot that are intended for customers... Now most at this...
  8. The Levine Twitter parade continues: 134 kW @ 65% SOC

I prefer the Tech in the Rivian, but I am 99% keeping the F150L. It's more practical for my use case due to having a bigger bed and more interior space. Also, I don't care that much about charge speed for my use case w/ the truck, so it's not a problem for me. However, if they did actually have...
  9. The Levine Twitter parade continues: 134 kW @ 65% SOC

(!) Mach-e has had 150kW peak charging for 2 years, has that gotten any better? The charging curve did, but it's still slow. And, the charging curve only got better after 80% which isn't (shouldn't be) a common use-case. Plus, Mach-e only peaks at it's 150kW between like 3-6% state of charge...
  10. The Levine Twitter parade continues: 134 kW @ 65% SOC

You can, if there is hardware designed to achieve those peaks... Zero reason to believe so w/ Ford.
  11. The Levine Twitter parade continues: 134 kW @ 65% SOC

You cannot fix peak charging w/ a software fix that's hardware. You can play w/ the charging curves w/ software. W/ charging you would lead with what the truck can do. Rivian has stated they can theatrically do 215kW peak. Ford has stated their peak times are 120kW and 155kW: This is actually...
  12. The Levine Twitter parade continues: 134 kW @ 65% SOC

Definitely a first. But, to be proud of 134kW is about 2 years dated and when thinking about efficient cars. They are getting outclassed heavily by Hyundai, Tesla, Rivian to name a few. Rivian @ ~60% is when it starts winding down and that was before a recent update. Rivian averages ~180kW...
  13. Financing Your Lightning

Bolt wasn't really a "first year" issue. Just a defect in the manufacturing process no one seemed to notice for 5 years. That is just a normal car failure at that point... No different than any other cars that get recalled for safety issues. Ford made a recall earlier this year for 215K...
  14. Lightning Pro Production date 5/30

I have a 5/30 week as week. I'm hoping for end of June delivery. Per ICE orders, seems like they usually take 3-4 weeks to ship to dealer. Could be less if you're closer to the plant... Or longer if there are trucking shortages.
  15. Levine is loading it up today

For those but "range is w/ 1000 lbs" ... No removing this weight isn't magically making this number jump. Aerodynmics trumps weight. If he put the concrete on top, it would help w/ range by crushing the cab and making the profile smaller.
  16. ⏳ The Official Launch (4/26) Countdown is On - Join us to watch the launch of the F-150 Lightning

They never really advertised these livestreams before, but the date matches so most likely related.
  17. What Max Tow Package on Lightning gets you (per Ford's Lightning marketing manager)

Not sure were you see it, but Ford finally put a description on the max tow package: " Max Trailer Tow Package on F-150 Lightning adds additional cooling hardware on the battery and electric motors to allow increased towing capacity rating." this is not new, it's been known it adds cooling...
  18. ⏳ The Official Launch (4/26) Countdown is On - Join us to watch the launch of the F-150 Lightning

Was looking at the F150 Lightning main page on Ford.com and I see a countdown now. https://www.ford.com/trucks/f150/f150-lightning/ Maybe celebrating first deliveries? Broken site reliving the launch from last year :)
  19. F-150 Lightnings aplenty...Ford Rouge staging area / storage lot!

I don't agree this this illegal actively. Get a drone for some nice close ups and overview counts, I didn't see signs prohibiting drones.
  20. Lightning Reservation Extended

Ford canceled the Pro line for consumers, so that's likely why. /replied 10 days ago
