Nice. My mpg has taken a definite hit, about 1-2 mpg. To be expected considering the BFG's are quite a bit heavier than the stock Michelin's at 57 pds/tire.
It's been over a year, so thought I'd give a quick update to this ancient post. Went with the K02's anyway! Conservative set up compared to most, just a 2" Level with the KO2's on stock wheels, stock offset. I think they look a ton better than the stock tires.
Also thinking of upgrading the tires on my XLT PB, 302A after having done a 2" level a while back. Came stock with the Michelin Primacy XC's (275/65/18), which weigh only 38pds according to tire rack. They're labeled as "all terrain" but are really more like a all season, highway tire. Tires...
It's a good question. I haven't had any issues with mine yet in almost a year (apart from the guages resetting, and the recalls), and it's been what I hoped so far. I do usually get a little ancy after 2-3 years for something different, and like to trade when I have the most equity to roll...
The fun part is that the boost gauge, along with other configured gauges and my view selections will reset randomly. I have to reconfigure mine once or twice a week. Does anyone know if any of the updates have resolved that?
I've gotten the same notices for my 21. Had the drive shaft work done, I suppose I got lucky with parts for that one. Noticed on my last tow that my brake controller didn't seem to be working, but it wasn't a huge deal as I only tow a pop up camper (about 2K pds fully loaded). Still want to...
Interesting, definitely not pretending to be a suspension expert, so I'm sure there's some things I don't know here. My ride definitely got firmer after the level though.
How could it not compress the coil? You're adding an immovable, extra space between the coil spring and it's chassis mount, without changing the total travel distance. This "preloads" (or compresses the spring). The coil has no where to go.
There's a channel on youtube called "Stangmode" who has a few videos drag racing his powerboost on a public dragstrip. The powerboost won most of the races he was in I think.
Added a 2" level (Readylift "pucks") to my XLT Powerboost recently. Still on stock wheels and tires (275/65/18). It's much stiffer than before. Still not a bad ride, and it does corner better, but I do miss the cushy, stock, ride.
From what I understand, a puck kit will always result in a...
It is possible to reach and even exceed the EPA ratings on certain trips that play to the system's strengths. This is my commute, "city" route. A lot of redlights, mostly on roads with 35-45 mph speed limits. You will be hard pressed to get this kind of mileage driving like everyone else in...
2nd the experience of a 1970s Caddy ride. I actually really liked it as it gave a really good ride off-road as well as on. Didn't really buy this vehicle as a "canyon carver", so didn't mind the roll on-road.
That was all before installing a 2" readylift level on the front. Now a completely...
Cool. Have a ton of friends from high school who went to Clemson, so spent a decent amount of time there over the years, mostly for the Carolina Clemson game days. I'm from Greenville originally.
Warranty was one reason I had my level installed at the dealer, rather than at a small shop, but...
This is (knock wood) the only issue I've had with my PB, but it's annoying as hell. Mentioned it to my service manager at the dealer, and he said almost all of the 21/22's do it. Indicated there should be a TSB soon. Meanwhile I've just gotten really good and adding my settings back quickly...
There may be some other threads on the coil overs. Fox is definitely up there. I just wanted to improve the stance, give myself a bit more ground clearance for offroading, and make some room for larger tires down the road.
Mine was really soft and cushy riding before this, like a 70's caddy...
I was initially told this as well, but it's not correct. There may not be an "OEM" leveling kit (as in for Original Equipment), but most of the dealers seem to default to "ReadyLift" and can install others.
Also my understanding on the coil over vs spacer/pucks is that the coil over will...
Thanks for the feedback all. I fought them on the extra charges and got them to at least meet me halfway at $200 extra rather than $400. I'm still not sure if the camera thing was legit or not. Checking out the work afterwards, I could see how the PB may be a little more time consuming to...
XLT Powerboost; about 21mpg lifetime average with nearly 5K miles. Stop and go "City" trips below 50mph, I see 22-25 if I can stay out of the throttle. Hwy is usually closer to 21-23. Sport mode with heavy throttle gets down to 16-17 pretty easy.
Just had the same done to my PB XLT with the readylift 2". Looks great. Ride is a bit firmer, which I think is actually an improvement as there is also less roll in corners (slightly less).
However, my pricing was more than double what the OP paid. Assuming a combination of the inflation...
