  1. Lock keys in truck and use key pad?

It's a sad state of affairs here in Northern Idaho. There all skinhead tweakers usually packing heat as well. Not enough cops and too much area to patrol. You bolt something down and they'll bring a blow torch... Saw a friend in Nebraska had his trailer stolen and the whole town seemed to come...
  2. Lock keys in truck and use key pad?

Thanks! Yea, I go crazy and hide my keys in a non-traditional area like under carpets or inside seat upholstery like it's drugs. I will even pull my registration and everything out of the glove box so there is absolutely nothing in the truck. The tweakers really target the rural areas around...
  3. Lock keys in truck and use key pad?

With older traditional keyed Ford vehicles. One of the benefits of the keypad is you could lock your keys in the truck when you went jogging, fishing, hunting, or whatever. This way you didn't have to worry about losing your keys while doing these activities. Is this still possible with the...
  4. Winter driving and adding weight in the bed of a 4x4 pickup?

Modern trucks are light years better in the snow than their older 20th century models. Beyond the better weight distribution, the traction control systems account for a lot, actuate the brakes to mimic limited slip, etc. The only time I see people getting stuck in the snow is either all ice...
  5. Why I sold my 2021 F-150 Limited Powerboost

I haven't experienced any rough transmission issues on my PB. It was built in June, I am curious if all these issues are related to earlier built trucks and they worked the kinks out later on in the production year? Just some food for thought.
  6. Crew Cab - 5.5 vs 6.5 box resale value

I bought a 5.5 foot bed so I could park in my garage, but if I didn't have a garage I would of gotten a 6.5 foot bed as it's more versatile. Keeping the truck out of the rain, away from bird poop, no clearing snow off, etc is all worth more to me than an extra foot of bed. It's all personal...
  7. Why I Sold My Lariat

Yep! The local shady "Buy Here, Pay Here" lot has had a few used 21 F150's parked out front now and again over the past year. It's sold almost immediately, and I am sure it's probably some insane interest rate if the same buyer isn't able to buy from a Ford dealer.
  8. Work Surface Durability Concerns

I am currently doing a few projects on my house (one of the major reasons I bought a truck) and the plastic work surface seems to be getting destroyed. I've just been hauling some wood, sheetrock, trash, and other basic things. Always take the time to try and lift items over the tailgate when...
  9. 302a include homelink opener?

They know people have cameras, but the police don't seem to do anything unless someone was hurt, at least around here. They told my friend who's house got robbed they'd file a report and if they catch them in the act elsewhere they can use it against them. Not even investigating it seems...
  10. 302a include homelink opener?

No, unfortunately no garage door opener. I velcro'd a small garage door opener to the inside of my center console that's even hard to see when you open it. I make sure to lock the console or take the garage door opener with me if I am going to park anywhere for awhile. You don't want to leave...
  11. Attempted Ford Pass Hack

If someone steals your phone or puts malware on it they could still disable that setting on your Ford Pass App and then add themselves. Having a 30 sec rotating 2FA code (like Google Authenticator) on the truck's nav will make it so they have to be physically at the truck. Just thinking of the...
  12. Attempted Ford Pass Hack

They need rotating 2FA in the truck's settings or something. Sure you should be able to share with another account via email, but that person should have to physically start the truck and input the 2FA code to have access.
  13. My dealer said that with the white platinum that waxing is not ever needed?

Waxing it is still ideal, but there are millions of work trucks on the road without any wax and they are doing just fine. White just hides things better than darker colors. Wax products are really forgiving now, you can grab some spray on stuff that you can apply every 6 months in 15-20 minutes...
  14. F150 Ford Tough - Koons Woodbridge Ford Offering Up To 5% Below Invoice

Yea, it's a very competitive price overall. If they had the truck in the spec I wanted when I was still in the market I'd jump on it. With current market conditions, if $899 is make or break on a deal for a $50k+ truck then just save yourself the time and hassle, just wait for the chip...
  15. What floor liners to go with

I have the WeatherTech FloorLiner HP versions and they are night and day better than Standard WeatherTech mats in my other vehicle. Really happy with them. More coverage than the OEM rubber mats as well.
  16. No leaks on what's new for 2022 F-150?

My concern with the price hike is a modestly optioned XLT now costs as much as a Ram 1500 Laramie or GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. I do think the F-150 is the better truck, hence why I own one. But seeing leather and more options for same price is tempting.
  17. No leaks on what's new for 2022 F-150?

Will they really get all those parked trucks done before 2022? I wonder if whomever is the authority on VINs would allow them to change them into 2022's. Throw a few gimmicky software features in the Nav/Console UI that don't require new parts as the "new features" and push them out the door to...
  18. Adjustable pedals vs non adjustable

I've had adjustable pedals on various vehicles in the past and can count on one-hand the amount of times I've adjusted them. Kind of a gimmicky feature in my opinion but I guess it's useful if you are really short or something.
  19. What did you NOT expect, but LOVE about your '21 F-150?

Yep, wish it didn't engage if you are going under 5MPH when you initially hit the brakes or something like that. Either that or a temporary disable button for auto hold. I had to turn it off because I came within inches of crashing into the work bench in my garage when I tapped the accelerator.
