I can't be the only one sadly amused there's enough anguish in the Lightning process that a thread about being disappointed in the invite waves transitioned to the inviteds' disappointment regarding production scheduling, right? :ROFLMAO:
Compact by bedlength but bigger than a Ranger otherwise. The R1T has a hard time fitting any of the current classifications.
An EV Ranger probably is most likely as the next move if for no other reason than the current Ranger is an old platform and next up for replacement. A Ranger-size body...
Any tire suitable for the vehicle weight will be just fine. An “EV” tire *might* get you a bit better range, but ultimately an EV is just a heavier-than-normal car.
Just something new for Apple Maps but mainly only a curiosity as far as I am concerned. Has all the limitations inherent in Apple Maps but gives you charging stops and gets battery info from the car. In my testing it does not let you do useful route planning out of the car, it just tells me a...
While the price gap is indeed stupid another way I look at it is as a 30% range increase rather than the oft-mentioned "only 70 more miles of range". 70 miles doesn't seem like much until you realize there is only 230 to start with.
Yes, MME has an OBD2 port (as does Chevy Bolt fwiw). Many owners use them to pull additional data from the car for various apps. Since the Lightning relies heavily on traditional F150 architecture I will be surprised if there isn't one, especially since Ford included it on the purpose-built MME.
The other benefit the Evalanche has that many seem to miss is that it will be the second vehicle on the platform. Hummer roll out is doing the heavy lifting. Silverado is a different body on the platform, as will be the Sierra variant. This should allow a faster rollout.
All Ford EVs through the years count against the current 200k limit.
Not an accountant so I may have the terms wrong but I don’t think the tax credit is a capital gains offset but a tax liability offset. At least that is not only my understanding but also how it just worked for me. We paid well...
Your reservation is just a theoretical place in line depending on how your dealer plays favorites and did not include any choices. We will specify trim, battery, etc when we finally get to order.
Unfortunately that pre-approval cert doesn't mean anything. It's been on my reservation for a few weeks now and through at least one disappointing invite wave.
Good post. Unfortunately thanks to Ford's ownership that segment will only be allowed to be a few thousand buyers for those two years. They are currently only really interested in playing in the luxury segment.
Rivian has effectively made the SR Lariat and the new base R1T almost equivalent from an equipment perspective, whereas before the R1T was significantly better equipped than a like-priced Ford. Rivian still holds the performance/range edge, and the best color choice (yellow ;)), but the decision...
Color me impressed. Somehow Rivian found a way for me to actually consider a Lightning again. Just in time for Ford to disappoint me for the fifth time this Thursday. :cautious:
Stone gray is really looks more of a brown than a gray. It’s been used for a few years now. I thought about it for a while but a bit too bland when i see it on the road.
Junior guy in the back of room sheepishly raises his hand: "you know we make more money selling overpriced XLTs than Platinums, right?"
Ford VP: "THIS IS NO PLACE FOR LOGIC AND REASON"
:ROFLMAO:
