  1. Adaptive Head Lights - Coming to the US???

I was able to enable the glare free headlights using your tips and by looking at the HCM configuration of the Canadian builds. Thanks!
  2. Adaptive Head Lights - Coming to the US???

I was able to change all of the settings in my Lightning except the 734-01-02, which gives me an error when I write it. I calculated the checksum digits with an app and still get an error. The glare free headlight setting appears on the center panel options screen and the green Icon with an...
  3. Adaptive Head Lights - Coming to the US???

I'm starting to tinker with FORscan in my F150 Lighting Lariat and have noticed that there's a lot of overlap between module settings in the Lightning and ICE versions of the F150. I'm especially interested in knowing whether glare-free hardware is present. All of the Lightnings come with the...
  4. Build week of 03/07/2022

My truck is being delivered to Nashville and has CH48 on the sticker.
  5. Anyone's Lightning getting built this week?

Your Module Build Data is probably the best indication of your vehicle being assembled since we're still awaiting OKTB. Assembly probably hasn't started (or isn't very far along) if there isn't anything in the As-Built . You're still probably going to be one of the first customers to take...
  6. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

I drove past this burning F150 last July. I alerted the national media but no one seemed to care. I guarantee it would have been on the front page of every car blog if it had been a Lightning....
  7. Battling dealers trying to sneak ADM in even when the accepted order says $0 ADM (Tri-Ford, Highland, IL)

That's absolutely how the dealers should treat the Lightning orders, but that's not how it functions in reality. We "owned" the reservation and order invite because we had the option to easily switch dealers during those stages. Once the order is placed and accepted by the dealer, they own the...
  8. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

If Ford's strategy was to deliver promised EPA range with the Mach E, why do you think they won't massage the variables to do the same with the F150L? I'm sure the very smart engineers that worked on this truck are aware that road load is non-linear as speed increases. I'm not sure why...
  9. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

Yes, the Mach-E does when plugged in. We don't have the F150 Lightning manual yet, but I assume it works the same.
  10. UPDATE: Lightning Build Date Scheduling Begins! Mine for the week of 4/25/22 [previously scheduled 5/2/22]!

My account still says $1695 for the delivery fee, so hopefully I won't have to argue with my dealer about that. I do want to keep it under $80K in the very slim chance the BBB EV credit gets passed as written and the even slimmer chance that it's retroactive.
  11. UPDATE: Lightning Build Date Scheduling Begins! Mine for the week of 4/25/22 [previously scheduled 5/2/22]!

Got my window sticker late this evening! 4/29 build date! Hopefully they're not still hungover from the unveiling event.
  12. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

Is that based on data or your gut? I'm not aware of any head-to-head cold weather testing between the Mach-E and competitors.
  13. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

The EPA calculations take aero effect (unique to each rated model) into account and it is expressed as a function of speed. So yes, the Lightning will have a larger aero effect than the Mach-E but this this is accounted for in the EPA highway rating. Automakers can manipulate the rating...
  14. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

Agreed. It would really help if automakers displayed the battery temperature on the instrument panel and had some sort of information about how this affects range and charging speeds on the infotainment screen. They talked about this on one of the InsideEVs podcasts and I think it's a good...
  15. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

I don't think anyone (including @sotek2345) is arguing that Ford "blow(s) away" the EPA numbers so that's a straw man argument. They do have a pretty good track record of meeting or exceeding the numbers in the InsideEVs range tests relative to other manufacturers. The GreenCar test is an...
  16. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

For whom? 70% of reservations for the lightning are new to Ford and new to the truck segment. I don't think they're going to lose customers.
  17. Battling dealers trying to sneak ADM in even when the accepted order says $0 ADM (Tri-Ford, Highland, IL)

This is the definition of a bait and switch. Unfortunately, they have little recourse after the order is accepted by the dealer because then the order becomes "theirs." I'd reach out to the sales manager and try to get as much communication in writing as possible. If that fails, I would refuse...
  18. Read before you order! Expect 50% range loss in winter in Northern states.

Battery preconditioning will mitigate winter range losses. I'm guessing the F150 ER trims will take less of a hit than the SR due to higher battery pack thermal mass (if the vehicle is preconditioned). The winter range hit is probably not an issue for most commutes. Preconditioning is key if...
  19. ⏳ The Official Launch (4/26) Countdown is On - Join us to watch the launch of the F-150 Lightning

There are retail orders dating back to Mid March. I'm assuming that most of the builds so far are FCTPs but there are some customer vehicles mixed in there.
