  1. OpenPilot on the F-150 (BlueCruise alternative)

Also, are there descriptions or details of each Driving Model somewhere? I'm using the default that came with Sunnypilot Dev when I installed (I believe it's Certified Herbalist v2).

All fair points. I give credit to RAM for at least creating a unique engine type that mitigates alot of issues people have with range/EVs. I personally would want one, maintanence on 2 types of motors in one vehicle just isn't for me.

If you can get over it being a Ram, you should look at the Ramcharger. https://www.ramtrucks.com/electric/ram-1500-ramcharger.html Sorry, I know I'm way off topic now.

You do realize the number 1 selling vehicle on the planet (yes, planet, not just the USA) in 2023 was the Tesla Model Y, right? That includes all ICE and EV.

I do not actually know the answer to this. What I do know is that in the Connected Services section of the truck, they do give you a warning that you are about to share your data. As I recall, those settings you have the option via a toggle whether or not you want to participate.

Of the 4 times I've had to charge while towing, I had to do that twice. The other two times I got lucky and caught an end charger with open parking spots next to it in the middle of a large (empty) parking lot. Doing it once or twice a trip is not that big of a deal to me. Doing it more than...
  7. Ford cutting workforce at F-150 Lightning plant in Dearborn

FYI, I drive a Lightning. Coming from a previous ICE F-150 (and having driven a RAM and Tundra for work), I would never go back. In my very humble opinion, it's better at everything, even towing. Respectfully (not trying to start a fight), here are some of the statements I hear about EVs: Can...
  8. OpenPilot on the F-150 (BlueCruise alternative)

Thank you for the update! Do we have any chance of getting official support in the near future?
  9. OpenPilot on the F-150 (BlueCruise alternative)

I'm following this thread from an F-150 Lightning perspective. I have a XLT ER with ACC and LKA. Waiting on more updates for the Q4 harness (to get rid of errors) before I jump in. Thank you all for your time and development.
  10. Analysis of Waves #1 - #3

This doesn't take into account all of us that were in these waves but extended our reservations. Hard to make estimates on where invites went...only where orders were confirmed.
  11. Invited After Transferring to ZEV State Dealer

But Tesla can't keep straight lines on their vehicles, their build quality is abysmal.
  12. Late Reservation (May 29, 0106 time stamp) Need Feedback Please

Assuming you can take advantage of the full tax credit (which you may or may not be able to) it's $7,500. Remember, if you are financing, you have to finance that additional $7,500 because you won't get the tax credit until the following calendar year. The XLT is $13k more than the Pro. The...
  13. Late Reservation (May 29, 0106 time stamp) Need Feedback Please

I wouldn't count on being able to get a Pro before 2025 (probably 2026) based on your reservation time, and place at a non-preferred state's dealer. The Pro's for 2023 are probably sold out already by people extending their reservations. Kansas also won't qualify for a high allotment compared to...
  14. 3rd wave people - XLT vs Wait for Pro

If they make 500 of them, I have a feeling Waves 2 and 3 from this year will be fine. Alot of people bought the XLT due to FOMO or just having the extra funds to waste. I'd imagine some people in these waves also got fed up and canceled their reservation. The amount of people in these 2 waves...
  15. ? 3rd Wave (2/3/22) Lightning Ordering Now Open!

Unless you have $13k to throw away...wait for the Pro, I extended mine and I was Wave 2. If you were 2 or 3 waves further back...then you may have a decision to make. I'd guess the first 4 waves of people extending their reservation will get a Pro in '23.
  16. Wave 3 Feb 3rd ~ XLT SR

So, like I said, too impatient to wait. The tax credit isn't a valid argument because the Pro with the Tax credit would've been $32,5k. Even with the half credit next year it's still significantly less, especially for the difference between the 2 models. - A light bar across the front -...
