As the original poster, I feel like an update is in order. I lost all trust in my original dealer who said that I needed front brake pads at 34K miles. My new dealer did an inspection and said all 4 wheels were fine. All were at 9, not 5 like the first dealer said.
Thanks for all your replies. Needing brakes at 34K sounded a little fishy to me. Is it normal procedure to recommend new pads when they are only half worn down? I would anticipate the service writer to say something like we’ll take another look at your next oil change or come back in in 10-15K...
I have a 2021 King Ranch Powerboost with 34,500 miles. I just had the oil changed and the service advisor said that I needed front brake pads. He said that because of regenerative braking on these hybrids the pads wear out faster. The front pads are half way down while the rear pads are like...
I bought my 21 Powerboost for two reasons, because it’s muscle truck fast and the fuel mileage. When it runs in the high thirteens and mid 13s stick that is very quick, (Magazine report). As a reference, my buddies 69 SS 396 Chevelle ran low 15s and another friends 70 Dodge Charger 440 ran low...
My 2021 Power Boost didn’t recognize my key while on a trip. My wife’s key had to be put up by the steering column for the truck to recognize her key. We immediately went over to the local Fird Dealer and had both key’s fob batteries changed. Cured it!
Truck was almost exactly a year old at that...
Mine has the same cold start noise, Ford is aware of the issue via this forum.
I had my local dealer check the transmission fluid. It was full so that isn’t it.
I responded to an earlier post with a video as well. Mine sounds exactly the same.
Thought it sounded like a Powerstroke not a Powerboost! Just happens when it’s cold and the truck is sitting outside.
I wanted a cover that was weather proof and secure. The Undercover Elete doesn’t leak a drop. Also had the dealer install the dust seals.
Plus it looks good. It has the Ford logo which looks good.
My Powerboost sounded exactly the same when I started mine in an outside temperature of zero F. I said to myself it sounds like a diesel!
It went away after idling a few minutes.
2004 GMC Yukon Denali that I bought new. Wonderful truck. Sold it to my friends daughter that has 5 kids. She needed the 3 seats.
2021 KR PB chrome. I used to think my GM 6 liter had power. This PB will tow my Ranger boat up a cliff!
Snow and Ice are obvious reasons for 4x4. Another reason is for towing. I have a truck to tow my fishing boat. I have seen guys spinning their tires many times at the boat launch on wet concrete.
The messaging seats do come standard on the 601A.
I love the Western theme on the King Ranch. Out here in Western South Dakota the cowboy is king, including our governor!
We also spend part of the winter near Bandera Texas, Cowboy capital of the world!
I get between 21-24 going up and down the hills in the Black Hills starting at 5600 feet. That’s is trying hard to get the best mpg in ECO mode. Regular 87 gas. Can’t help it to floor it occasionally to get that rush of power!
It’s all about the interior! My wife and I sat in both a Platinum and a King Ranch. That brown leather in the King Ranch is so gorgeous that it made the decision easy for us.
I have 1600 miles on my KR powerboost. The Air Conditioner seems weak, not the fan but the temperature. The air only seems a little cool verses cold. Just came from. 2004 Yukon Denali and the temperature coming out of the vents was twice as cold.
We are struggling to cool off and the outside...
