Planning on getting a Lightning Pro for now, drive it for 3-5 years and trade it in for something nicer. Hoping the Gen 2 Lightning has a Raptor trim level (3 motors, big battery, the works)
CT reservation is there if the "stars align" kinda situation. If they can hit all the performance...
I'm in the same boat. I don't live in an area where cold is an issue, so should be a great daily driver for 3-5 years.
With the lack of used EVs on the market, much less EV trucks, I can't see resale being an issue.
Definitely Iced Blue Silver. Unique for the Lightning and that slight blue hue looks great to me with the black Pro wheels. I can't do dark cars anymore with all the sand and dust and sun
That being said I would like the Cactus Gray color from the Bronco. That and the tan color from the...
Sorry, when you talked about signed documentation, I just wanted to see if anything you had seen at your dealership had certain language, etc. To make it something the dealer has to stick with
But is something like this legally binding? Reading the Jalopnik story with the Bronco it sounds like people got email confirmation and a big markup when their vehicle came in
Do you by chance have any examples of this type of document? Reading some of these horror stories with markups is giving me pause on ordering the Lightning at all. I really want a Pro model to save money and then get something nicer in 3-5 years when they have dedicated EV platforms (and...
Unfortunately the beaches that we enjoy don't have CCS options so we would have to drive 20 minutes in the opposite direction and then hope it's not being used.
We just got my wife one of the new Sorento Hybrids so we only stop for bathroom breaks now, which is fine for me to road trip in...
That's what I keep telling myself. If I take my truck to the beach a few times a year, I'm just gonna have to deal with the inconvenience of having to fast charge the thing, probably when the kiddos are sleeping and have it be a longer day. I can deal with that for something that is going to...
It's all just marketing jargon. Tesla did the same thing.
"Starting at $39k with up to 500mi of range and 0-60 in <3.0 secs..." Two different models and price points but that is the line that makes every website.
Not sure how that is exploiting anyone. Ford wants to lock down that commercial...
I think we should have more credit for trucks and SUVs. Whether that be $5k/$10k or something really crazy like $7.5k/$15k. Have the limit capped at $80k or $100k. That way you can still get a Porsche if you want, you just aren't going to get as much value vs a cheaper car
Only helping cheap...
Heck yeah, I totally plan on doing this. Living in California with all the power safety shutoffs and rising rates, this thing is going to be a gold mine!! ?
Not sure if you watched this interview from a few weeks ago. He outlines their timeline for EV pack production. They are talking about scaling up to the size that can be stacked into a battery pack by the end of 2023. I realize that this isn't Ford's pony in the race, but it gives you an idea...
Fully agree. CT has some cool features, almost too good to be true specs for the price, and seems very bleeding edge. However, Tesla quality has gone downhill dramatically with increased production and I don't see the company taking that seriously as they are so focused on their stock price...
That is the hurdle that Ford and many others are going to have to get over to convince a lot of truck guys to get on board with EVs.
I think that they work amazingly well for a very large portion of the segment (government and fleet vehicles, weekend warriors, soccer moms, etc.), but there...
He posted on his Twitter that the 460mi number was due to running very low distances at very low speed, but I am still hopeful that Ford will sandbag their numbers and we will get 325-350+ with normal driving conditions
I still think that solid state batteries will be the "holy grail" for EV batteries in my lifetime.
-2-3x energy density
-charging 10-80% in 10-15 minutes
Could be a real game changer. Unfortunately, it will take time. 3-5 years to get them ready for pack level integration and even longer to...
