Exactly.
Not to mention all the other future truck buyers who are at risk of being screwed by this dealer if they don't know what they are getting into.
If I lived in Northern VA, I would want to know which dealer to avoid.
The fact that you didn't name the dealer despite them screwing you over just perpetuates this type off behavior. Why would you not want everyone to know which dealership did this?
Perhaps you were still holding onto some hope over the weekend, but now that the dealer deadline passed, I can't...
Man... This is a terrible time to need or want to buy a new truck. Between the delays, loss of available features due to chip shortage, and frequent price increases, it's a seller's market for sure. Unfortunately for Ford and other carmakers, they can't really capitalize on the supply and...
That's weird. Sorry I attributed the title to you. Sounds like admin is responsible for the misleading and incorrect title... Although I can't imagine why on earth they would do that.
The reservation numbers are not consecutive. Although it seems counter intuitive, your reservation number does not imply a specific spot in line. For example, one might assume reservation "10" was placed before reservation "11," but that's not the case. The reservation numbers can only be...
That got my attention too. Another round of dealer prioritizations could potentially keep pushing day 1 reservation holders to the back of the line.
It's mind boggling. Why would Ford do that? It was weird enough they allowed it for the 2022s, but it really surprises me they might keep...
I see now. I feel for you. You are in a bad position, and I know how it feels. Although most F159s perform as expected, there are many stories of people just like you not getting the service and help they needs when things go wrong.
Good luck, and let us know what the service tech says.
If you aren't getting the service you expect, why don't you take Ford up on their offer a few posts back. They offered to help, but it sounded like you told them not to worry as everything was going just fine with your current plan.
That makes sense I suppose, and while that shouldn't be a big deal most of the time, this apparently gives dealerships a chance to screw people over by not allowing them to submit an order when it's their turn, thus giving somebody else farther down the list a chance to order.
@LabradorDad's...
Interesting. If the dealer wants to skip you and have another customer place an order instead, that certainly warrants a call to Ford.
This reservation and ordering process just gets crappier and crappier as time passes.
That's interesting. I don't think that was supposed to be possible. Ford is supposed to send email invites. I didn't think dealers had any say in that process beyond the initial prioritization fiasco in December.
Those are certainly important factors to consider. It's why I'm still holding both reservations. Maybe I'll take which comes first... Lightning or Rivian. Or maybe I'll eventually give up and keep my old F150 another few years. I'm so indecisive.
What a mess. My Lightning reservation apparently means close to nothing to Ford since dealers were permitted to let VIPs cut the line and place orders before people who reserved first, so I've been trying to decide whether I should wait another year or more for my Lightning, buy a Powerboost...
Does that apply to what the Ford rep said?
It sounds like the Ford rep said it needs to warm up as it drives and the range will increase (I'm basing this off the fact they were driving the truck, not charging it, at the time the claim was made. That's very much different than preconditioning a...
You know how people tried to log on and order Lightnings with Pro trim and couldn't because it was sold out? It was the same with the Mach e First Edition, except you had to select the First Edition when placing your reservation... Not at the time of order. Once the First Edition was sold out...
