There was a video a while back about this subject that used the U.K. as its basis. The nitty-gritty was that compared to historical peak energy use in the U.K., they are currently well below that level due to modern appliances, etc. If they were to convert 50% of cars/trucks instantly...
If there's an extended hurricane or earthquake induced grid outage, another item to consider is just what you're keeping your car fueled up for (ev or ice)? Going to the grocery store? Odds are power is out there too. They don't have the ol backup cash registers with manual buttons. Nor is the...
Waiting for the next technology to come out is always an infinite wait. The trick is to find the spot you feel comfortable with. SSB batteries are a better thing no doubt, but getting them ready for EV's is another story.
And PR statements are just that.
Reservation numbers are not exclusive to the Lightning. Mach-e, Bronco, etc are all wrapped up in there as well.
As for production, there are a lot of factors that will be considered in scheduling, reservation date and order conversion date are two of them, but not the only consideration and...
Sort of. We also know that with the MME, some earlier reservations and orders were built a fair bit later than those that were ordered/reserved later. There's more to this than just reservation timestamp.
Since my Lightning res is with a Mainland dealer it'll be "interesting" to see just how it...
I second what @ChasingCoral. It's far easier to deal with this at reservation time by making inquiries and shopping around than it is when your brand new Lightning arrives. If you've already made a rez, you can still make inquiries and should be able to switch dealers (as we could during Mach-e...
For number's sake: We both paid an extra $5000 for 59 miles of predicted extra range on the mach-e (Premium with 211 EPA range AWD SR battery vs Premium with 270 EPA range AWD ER Battery) 68 kWh vs 88 kWh usable batteries, or an extra $250 per each additional kWh.
Bigger vehicle, far higher...
My wife asked how she could drive this thing between the SFO Bay Area and Central Oregon. She then found the Ford Map and the EA map. It's not even an issue.
And looking at the Biden plan? Not an issue on this island either.
Some do. The two Nissan dealers here have a 25kwh charger and a 0 kWh charger. Your mileage may vary.
BTW the cost for the 50 kWh chargers? Out here around $250,000 each.
Every Ford EV dealer has to have at least 2 chargers, one available to the public and the other in the service department. Not all Ford dealers are ev certified for either sales or service.
I'm pretty much with @ChasingCoral on this. While I do have a 2020 F150, it's a known commodity for me. I'm mostly here for the lightning stuff. It'd be nice is the ICE F150 people could select just ICE forums with the "what's new" click and the F150 Lightning folks could do the same with the...
I can see it both ways. Since we have a 2020 Raptor, the regular F150 forum is of some interest to me. It’d be nice to keep them on the same site. On the other hand, it’s arguable that the vehicles will be different enough to warrant a separate site altogether. But there will still be enormous...
Once again, we're all going to have fun and games with what the rez numbers mean. Spoiler alert (nothing much). I slept on it last night and placed the reservation this morning. 1081xxxx number.
