Here's my hope. Based on real-life GT reviews the base and Performance versions have similar 0-60 times but Ford stresses 3.5 vs 3.7s in their marketing. Why? I assume because a lot of people focus on that metric Ford needs to create a differentiating metric to incentivize customers to pay $5k...
The first ones are probably coming out of Thailand (RH drivers) where the current Ranger Raptor is made for the region and Australia. Thai customers were highlighted during the new Ranger launch.
One of the first orders that popped up in the Facebook Lightning group showed a $1000 deposit. Mine was $500. Most people aren't sharing their deposit amounts, so don't know what's more common. Unlike with the Mach E the deposit and res fee are being applied to the sales price, at least that's...

If I was a dealer I wouldn't prioritize reliable buyers who will stick with their orders. I think more money can be made with cancelled orders that can be market adjusted. That's what we are seeing with the Mach Es.
There were rumors of something like this when I picked up my Mach E GT earlier in the Fall so I played ball with the dealership. They gave me MSRP and x-plan and I took their financing even though I found lower loan rates on my own. The price difference to me is a couple hundred bucks but the...
Another reason to hide my Lightning from my friends. I've been the "friend with a truck" before and I don't want to become the "friend with a truck and a mobile charger". I don't want any 2am calls, "Hey dude, my Tesla ran out of juice..." :p
January makes sense, I have the feeling they were hoping to start orders by the end of the year but got tired of waiting for news out of DC and January is a safe bet to sate our needs.
I too remember the "by end of year" Mach E deliveries on 12/31. My Mach E (with prior reservation) took 6...
My guess is they won't release it until Congress decides what to do with EV credits. Good and bad for us, I expect that Ford will raise prices if the credits allow it but also cap prices if there is a limit on the EV purchase price to qualify.
It's necessary to keep reservation holders interested and the press buzzing. Ford has been knocking it out of the park on marketing, and they are hitting all the channels, TV, internet, news, apps etc. Lots and lots of buzz. They did the same thing with the Mach E, but with only 10% the effort...
I think breaking out the EVSE charger is the way to go, so we can also get the EVSE install credit, but there's a lot of wiggle room if the Tow Tech and Max Trailer packages can be added on (or activated) after the sale.
I would also question how the 80amp charger will be included. If it's within the price of the vehicle does that mean we can't get the EVSE install credit (max $1k)?
From the other post, I assume the Extended Range pack includes the wall charger..."includes 80-amp Ford Charge Station Pro charging wall box". That should be listed in the sheet, no? I think that's a big + if it is.
The extended range pack includes the 80 amp wall charger, and the extended range pack comes standard on the Lariat+ and Platinum, which will be the two options I will have to debate.

Not the most exciting TFL episode...but what can you expect from a matter-of-fact engineer? :)
