Got a message from the dealership that the transmission pan gasket was leaking, this wasn't noticed on the first visit when trans was two quarts low?? they are replacing the gasket and giving it back. My question is do you think running two quarts low for 8K would cause any premature wear...
Took it back to the dealership for leaking transmission fluid, squealing delayed shifts again. first time was two quarts low of transmission fluid at 7K. Sad to say, I'm quickly losing confidence in this vehicle.
Update,
Transmission is leaking again and shifting hard on downshifts and squealing on upshifts, back to the dealership today. The vehicle has 8K, I'm quickly losing confidence in this vehicle.
1. Truck came two quarts low of transmission fluid from KC factory, noticed it at 7.5K miles.
2.Unable to toggle switch to automatic updates, version says "revision".??
Update on my transmission noise during cold shifts:
Dealer said it was low two quarts of transmission fluid and must have come from the factory that way. It was topped off and trans reset. I just can't wrap my head around how this happens. My truck was built at the KC factory and the dealer...
My 3.5 EB trans makes a noise in 3 &4th gear when cold, if I disconnect the battery will this help eliminate the noise by relearning? It seems like it occurs on low RPM's only in 3rd and 4th. When at operating temps I don't hear anything.
My dealer told me it wouldn't void the warranty, I removed mine and trimmed it up. Only thing I noticed is the MPG went from 20.5 average to 20.2 so far, I can live with that. I do travel off road a lot though.
Took that ridiculous air dam and motors off, trimmed it up, put electrical tape on wires and secured them with wire ties. Clean look and don't have to worry about it malfunctioning/bending while off road in the mountains!
"I don't know what cab you have, but I just put the rear seats up and throw in an extra large waterproof dog bed, works great. I'll look at in today and see if it has a tag to give you the brand".
This is exactly what I did, works great for my husky and beagle. I found a waterproof memory foam...
That's what mine looked like, it was a March 2021 KC build 3.55 gears. I took a wire brush, Rust-Oleum and some undercarriage spray to it, problem fixed. Didn't want to wait or rely on the dealership. One of the first things I did on the dealer lot was look at the rear-end, thanks to this...
My dash is reading 20.5 average for my 21 F150 3.5, SC, FX4, max tow, 3.55 rear, I'm coming from a 2019 F250 6.2 which had a bad drinking problem at 12.9 average. These are dash readings so who knows how close it is to real life mpg's.
Man, I wish I had the option to delete the auto stop/start when I bought my truck. First thing I did was install the auto stop eliminator behind the button, plugs directly to the switch and remembers the last setting. I guess I'm old school and can't get used to the engine turning off, just...
