Not American but sure do enjoy my 2021 Lariat Sport 502a (first time owning a Ford). Drives like a car and the 2.7 has a ton of get up and go and gets fantastic gas mileage on the highway.
Lease is up in August… might buy it out if these insane lease rates on the 2024’s don’t start dropping!
Well- I went on a 3,800km road trip last week. After the first 1,000km/600mi and I started doing some city driving, the auto stop worked like clock work once again. So based on comments above, it sounds like the charge is back and has worked every time you’d expect it to since then. Sounds like...
Thanks for the reply. Just curious what BCM means? I really haven’t done a long drive in a long time, do you think a short road trip would get the vehicle to sort itself out? I did a drive downtown yesterday and truck was on for about 20-25 mins in light urban and suburban stop and go. Turned...
Noticing the same issue with my 2021 2.7 Lariat all of a sudden. I think the engine has shut off once in the last two weeks. Even after a 20mins highway drive, the console said engine on due to vehicle charging. Weird…..
Update: for me above, it turns out a wire chafed and shorted out. Wasn’t the module bulletin posted above. Should be able to pick up the truck in an hour.
Yeah no luck. I tried turning off the truck, locking it multiple times. It actually wouldn’t even start half the time. It was weird. It seemed like very Nth on/off cycle it wouldn’t turn on.
Anyway, went to the dealership on a flat bed yesterday. Was there last week for that insulator bolt...
After doing a rinse off at the self wash bays while running errands yesterday I did a 2 bucket Optimum No Rinse in my driveway. It was near freezing outside so I actually went and bought a Simoniz Microfibre wash mit built with a pole attachment. Worked pretty good. I used 2 microfibres to dry...
Obviously subjective but I have the Ford low profile hard cover that sits level with the top of the bed rails. Looks super clean and works great. After driving around and seeing lots of the covers that sit higher up- they all tend to look chunky, warped, and not factory or part of the truck...
Cool road trip. I notice your temp at 65…. About 18.3 Celsius. Do you find the fan runs warm relative to temp setting? I’m usually at 18-18.5C as well.
I don’t think being in Canada has anything to do with it. It’s luck of the draw in terms of how it comes off the line and whether chips are available and shipping/transport. My truck made it from Kansas to Nova Scotia in 10 days, and then sat in my local auto port for 12 days 5 minutes down the...
A bit dirty these last few days. Had some flurries this week and the roads have been wet since. Got the Blizzak DMV2’s and some OEM mud flaps on this past weekend. I find the body panels get covered in crap without the front mud guards on. Fuel economy took a dip.
Truck looked cloud Grey as I...
Optimum No Rinse (all exterior including rims)
Optimum Spray wax 2-3x per year
Mother’s Clay Bar 2x per year
Optimum Opti-Bond Tire Gel
Optimum Ferrex (every couple years)
Nothing else touches the outside of my car unless I need to use a self-wash bay and use the rinse only to get extra grit...
Optimum No Rinse in my garage year round. I occasionally go to the self-wash bays and use rinse-only if the truck is really filthy and covered in grime… and then go home and use Optimum No Rinse. Amazing product that I’ve been using for nearly 10 years.
This front end eats up road debris. I have Space White so the chips stick out like a sore thumb. After 4,000km I find the front is getting beat up too fast for my liking.
What’s everyone using to mitigate damage? Wax obviously ain’t going to cut it.
Optimum Opti Bond Tire Gel. Only need to put it on a few times a year. A damp wipe shines the tires up after rain. It doesn’t attract dirt and debris either.
Check the vehicle settings on the touch screen menu. My power tailgate was default off and found a bunch of other options in there including folding mirrors.
The lights eventually do turn off. My USB will also charge when truck is off but I’ve only kept my phone plugged in for a minute or two so not sure if it turns off once the media bin lights go out. I would assume so.
