  1. Car Wash drive thru or at home?

I hand wash my own truck using a two-bucket method and grit guards at the bottom of each bucket. I bought an electric power washer and a foam cannon, but have only used them (in addition to the two-buckets) once because I'm lazy. One thing I didn't consider when buying my first truck was how...
  2. The 2.7 EcoBoost Towing Thread - Post your trailers, campers, equipment photos!

I wish I could have gotten the payload package with the Lariat trim. Mine is optioned with the heavy stuff - moonroof, bed utility package, spray in bedliner, etc. I wonder what kind of boat mine could realistically tow considering boats generally don't have a high tongue weight.
  3. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

Yeah, I'm not sure which one I'll get, but I'm definitely going to pick one up. I definitely prefer the price of the UPR one. :D
  4. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

Guess I know what I'm buying next! I just watched this video to check that valve out, and this guy is using the drain pan that I used and his drained soooooo much better than mine. It looks like the vent hole is not as obstructed than mine. Pretty annoyed that mine wasn't punched correctly from...
  5. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

I'm assuming this doesn't apply if you have the auto stop/start delete from the factory?
  6. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

Fair question. I was going to ask the same thing but I didn't want to come off as being overly defensive. When I read that comment, I figured he likely meant one of two things, 1) that he has a lot of faith in the dealer and doesn't mind being overcharged for something that, practically...
  7. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

Yeah, but I'm wondering if it is slightly obstructed. When I opened it, it wasn't a completely open hole. It has some plastic inside it. Was I supposed to stick something in it beforehand to make the opening wider?
  8. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

The issue I had wasn't so much about how the oil exited the hole, it was more about how the drain pan I used wasn't able to handle the volume of oil that drained. The reservoir filled up quicker than it drained into the container, causing it to overflow. My error was not putting the plug back in...
  9. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

By hash mark, do you mean the line at the end of the crosshatch pattern closest to the 'MAX' hole? Looking at online pictures, apparently that represents the nominal fill line? Not sure what that means. Should I be aiming for that line or the actual hole in the dipstick that represents maximum?
  10. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

Ahh, yeah, I do remember that about the FordPass points now. I still have 13100 after buying a rubber bed mat from Ford. Sorry I forgot to mention about the oil temp. The oil was hot/warm. I drove about 15-20 mins and let it sit for 20 minutes after I got home before starting the process. As...
  11. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

Is that what you do? If so, how much does the dealer charge typically? Aren't the first three oil changes free? Probably should have taken advantage of that.
  12. 2.7L EcoBoost Changed my own oil for first time - 2.7 ecoboost not taking whole 6 quarts

Last night I performed my first ever oil change. I got through it with some hiccups. Definitely some room for improvement. Looking for some advice for next time. Keep in mind, I am an IT person by trade, but I'm trying to be more self sufficient with automotive stuff. Materials used: Kirkland...
  13. F-150 gets back Auto Start/Stop feature starting on 3/24/23

Addition by subtraction, IMO. The one feature-delete that actually felt like a feature-add to me. And FORD paid ME $50 for it. :D
  14. NEW HIGH SCORE!!!

So I'm at about 3500 miles on my 2022 Lariat 2.7L and my fuel economy shows 20.3 after probably a 60/40 or 70/30 split of highway/city driving. Should I be getting more than this? Is my mpg so low because it is basing it on all 3500 miles since I haven't reset it? Will mpg improve over time?
  15. Ford going cheap on the seats

Is replacing lariat seats and with platinum seats even a thing (when supply chain issues aren't happening)? I would actually be interested in doing that if I tried the platinum seats and they were more comfortable. I dislike my lariat seats that much.
  16. ANC turned off by default?

I had no idea that F150 gen 14s had ANC. Is my 2022 2.7 enabled by default?
  17. Ford going cheap on the seats

I think the seats in my 2022 Lariat are the only thing I'm unhappy with after 3000 miles driven. I just can't get comfortable in them. For a few reasons. The seat pan just seems narrow, and the way the bolstering and leather piping are designed, I feel like I'm falling of the left side of the...
  18. Disappointed in 3.5.3.2 Update

So, I've got 3.5.3.2 now, and the only thing it is useful for as far as I can tell is being able to see your music app and google nav at the same time. Being that I generally use the Sync4 nav (and have location services turned off on my phone), this update is kind of pointless for me. Oh well...
  19. Bed camera being deleted from 360 camera package

Yeah, thankfully I got in before that. I'm not sure why more people aren't upset about that. I like the factory Nav and use it when I can instead of using my phone's battery. Sirius is also a nice to have, even if you don't use it kind of feature.
