About a month ago I traded in my 2021 F150 KR. Really liked the truck and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Decided on moving up to a 2022 F250 Platinum with 6.7 diesel as prepping for long trip. My needs were the same as with the F150 only the results are dramatic. With trailer, Jeep...
Good question -- no I did not remove the axle. I did however remove the tires, unhooked the lines and hoses, tape off all the bolts, covered the rotors... so no black paint would be on parts not suppose to be painted. I also used a rust remover and sanded prior to paint. lots of tape...
Not sure what is happening but the recalls for this truck are getting common.
21S25 - Driveshaft fracture / Insulator. Recalled on 6/21 and only listed here is after 10 months still waiting on parts
22S17 / 22V193 -- Trailer Brake Controller non applying brakes. Recalled 4/22
22S12 / 22V142...
Sorry to hear of your issue but this is not new. F150 "Rustgate" started in 2021. My KR was a mess, after multiple calls the dealer said they would resolve but decided to do myself as thought would be done better. I disconnected all, sanded and painted.
Essentially the axle was installed...
Great looking ride -- black /white combo is killer. Do us (or me a favor) and after a while of driving let us know the MPG impact and if the heavier/larger tires override the Hybrid (meaning all gas all the time). I want to do a level kit/little larger tires and understand the implications...
Lots of opinions, so might as well share my experience / logic.
The KR purchase had many of the FX4 features including the all-important to me rear locker, AT transfer case, modes for off-roading. I did not care for the floor mats as like the carpet mats and knew could add WeatherTech at...
I added the simple an effective: Amazon.com: Rightline Gear Adjustable Cargo Bar : Automotive
It was $39.95 and works as designed. In my old F150 had the Ford bed divider that folded up to the side when not in use. Given the 7.2 outlets, decided to go for this first. Again, simple, cheap...
Helpful thread. But like others wish it would stay in the mode previously selected. I do see an MGP difference with ECO and would like to make the default.
Wow I feel your pain.
Had a similar experience on a new Jeep bought in Denver. Had to drive home at night to DFW with the head unit ghosting moving between screens (nav/radio/climate). Would not take the Nav, the radio constantly going back to the Elvis station and temp going back to 76...
There have been lots of posts on this in the past. It is Ford's "Rustgate" I had same issue and taped off and painted the underside, even though the dealer offered to fix, as I wanted it done right . I removed cable attachments, taped off much...
Good luck.
Ghost_Riders, and there it was, thanks for sharing.
Operating as designed, and will admit a little disappointed but understand the general purpose logic - versus us out in the flat lands where 85 MPH speed limits are common and appropriate.
Can't decide if a question or PSA. On a flat, straight, open 2 lane road in daylight I needed to pass several semis and found my '21 KR Powerboost governed to 106. Frankly the motor had a lot more to offer but the truck did not.
Has anyone had this phenomenon? Please don't lecture on needing...
Beautiful truck. On my 2014 Platinum I had the grill color matched looking awesome and added a clear bra so would not chip. Been considering doing the same to the bezel for the King Ranch but finding someone to do a quality job is my hesitation -- this post does not help. ;)
I got the recall and took it to the dealer last week before a cross country trip to Birmingham. Thought better safe than sorry. Your pic is the best depiction of the issue. Thank you (all) for sharing
The dealer said I was their first, they did not have the rivets needed to fix so did what...
Appreciate you all for this post. This just happened to my truck where the driver side would not stay up and go down 4 inches. The reset process worked and all is good now. This saved a trip to the dealer with a 2 minute fix.
This post shows the value of the forum and open communication...
When raised the panels touch the glass. All but about 4" of top of bed is usable. Full bed under the cover is usable. For instance, when I move tires I stand up 4 across and the middle of the tire fits nicely under cover. Again, nice easy to use option.
Have been using the Bakflip on past 3 trucks. The 2021 is the MX4. Solid, weathertight, well made, allows almost full access to bed . Worth the cost in my opinion -- but like the other posts speak you need to ensure you get to your own specific requirements.
