Hey Jonathan, does the Max Tow option provide extra payload? I've seen a similar Lariat configuration but with the regular tow package and its payload is only 1300ish. Just curious how you got such a great payload on a Lariat WITH the moonroof! Awesome looking truck :)
Camper length is 30' from back to back to trailer coupler, dry is just over 6000 lbs (we never get it more than 6500 lbs when we load it).
I'm not sure how to interpret the tire rating either...I've got Michilen Primacy XC tires with the values 275/65R18 but there's no leading P or LT in front...
Got my new 21 F150 in May. Since then, done a few camping trips pulling a trailer. Thought recently to check my tire pressure, but the numbers seem odd.
Max PSI from tire wall: 51
Current PSI from cold: 39 or 40
Recommended PSI from door jam sticker: 35
So the tires were over-inflated at the...
Very much same for me - bought the truck to tow a 30' Keystone trailer at 6000lbs dry (we maybe get it up to 6500 loaded). From what I've read, its recommended to use premium gas when towing. If you're not towing you don't need to. So yeah, could be a bit of a hit. We're only doing trips an hour...
Hey Paul, welcome to the forum! :) I went with the V6 over the V8 mainly because I bought it to tow my new camper (6000 lbs dry) and my research showed the V6 is better for heavier tows and can perform better in mountains (note - I live nowhere near mountains, so this was an edge case nice to...
I got a scratch on my 21 F150 truck and I need to just get a touch-up pen to cover it. It's Agate Black, colour code UM on the door sticker. I can't find a paint pen *anywhere* with this colour code, and Dupli-Color doesn't even list models above 2018 in their pick list.
Does anyone know if...
I tried to put on a K-Source model ( K Source :UNIVERSAL ) after verifying with an online website that it will fit on a 2021 F-150. Will it attach? Yes. Will it stay on? Definitely not! The way the stock mirrors are shaped the pads under the ratchets can't get a clean enough grip and they slide...
Quick update, went with trunnion. Dealer was like "more stability" and I was like "good enough, let's do it." So still no definitive answer, but the towing experience was really smooth so happy with it. :)
Sorry, just wanted to clarify - was the issue with the trailer and not the 7-pin connector from the truck, or Ford changed the wiring in the connector and modifications to the trailer junction box need to be made to enable battery charging for the 12v source?
I'm excited about the Lightning, but agree with @HawkeyeOD - need to see real world performance numbers first on towing. Like anything new, might be a "wait for the 2nd or 3rd model year" to let them figure out the issues that arise in v1.
I was considering a V8 at first too, then after research the 3.5L V6 is actually better on towing and on payload its on par with the V8 (see page 29 for all the charts at The All-new 2021 F-150® (ford.com) , thanks again @Vulnox for sharing this!). Apparently the V6 is better in higher...
The INTERWEBS?! ;) I read the marketing stuff, but the only difference I've read is in line with what @SanJuanTech mentioned - trunnion has heavier weight models available compared to round bars. Figured people using either one might have some real-world nuances :)
That's a great idea about the...
I put in my custom order in March and it floored me seeing people waiting on their Fall 2020 orders when mine got a blend date of April 20th. We ended up buying off the lot (bought it for camping, with the KC plant shutdown and its extensions we didn't want to risk missing out) and I'm glad I...
Hey all, my RV dealer has two options of e2 hitch - the straight-armed Trunnion and the angled Roundbar. Anyone have experience or preference when it comes to which version is better (either for an e2 or alternative weight distributing/sway control hitch)?
e2™ Hitch | Fastway Trailer
Thanks!
Let us know if that fixed it. I had a weird thing with my display the other day that was similar...it eventually just "went away" and hasn't come back. I was worried at first that it was a bad cable connection to the display but I'm thinking some type of interference as well.
Its interesting to see the different experiences with dealers and x-plan pricing. I was lucky that my dealer does x-plan and had no issues offering it.
Also +1 on the comment that when you place an order you get whichever incentives are better between when you place the order and when you get...
